Do you think that a jail cells should be in the shape they're in? Or do you think that criminals deserve the conditions? From what I can tell they're just uncomfortable bunk beds, a toilet her, a sink there. No privacy. And, what if an innocent man is found guilty in a verdict? They don't deserve such horrible conditions of their new home. And even guilty people, if they're going to live the rest of their lives in a run-down cell, don't you think they could at least make the jails tolerable? Thanks for your opinion.

O'dell Thurmond, Cincinnati Bengal footballer, got busted for DUI at a sobriety checkpoint reportedly blowing a 17 on the breathalyzer. According to the news, he was cited and released. It seems to me that this did not get the dangerous driver off the road but did put drunk driving at the level of "pay to play". So, Thurmond pays his fine and gets off scott free.
You or me they would throw under the jailhouse and lose the jackhandle.
How come this footballer got off?

If a black guy robs a store at gunpoint why would you detain and question a mexican? If a middle eastern man hijaks and crashes a plane into a building, why detain and search a black woman? If an Asian woman in an Acura causes a 20 car pile-up on the freeway, would you pull over a white male in a pick-up truck? But the minute you handcuff and question a black man in the area, or detain only the Middle Eastern people or suspend the license of an Asian you are racially profiling.

They should concentrate more on crime that affects Joe Public i.e. burglaries, muggings, pub violence, rape & child abuse (by which I do not mean 'smacking' your own kids). Also, they should be allowed to prosecute immediately parents of kids who continually commit crime.

Ok, I've always wanted to be a policeman, since I was just a nipper. Many of my friends and family say that it is a role I was born to do.
However (isn't there always a however), I no longer see the point. Police officers have no power in protecting the general public because the government tie their hands. They appear to spend their lives now catching speeding motorists (which although an understandable problem, not as important as protecting the innocent from criminals) and persecuting innocent people who are easy pickings.
I couldn't do that. I want my life to have some meaning, I want to help people and am willing to give my life to protect them from criminals. I could enter the system to try and fix it, but if I do that would I not become as useless as all the police officers we have already? trapped behind government red-tape and unable to fight effectively?
What do u all think?

So I just got my notice in the mail saying that I passed the written portion of the test and I have to go in on Tuesday for the performance part. I have a couple questions, first how many more portions are there to this test? And once I pass the performance part will there be a waiting period? Also how is this job? I mean right now I work for myself so hours are VERY up to me and all..lol...so it it true that I am going to be working ALL THE TIME with a dispatching job? Or are the hours 40 hours a week? Or what? I certainly want some family time and all and Im spoiled now. I love my job now but Im trying to find out if it's worth it to switch jobs and work for dispatching where I will have nice benefits and all and considering the fact that I am only 22 I might have a good retirement? Anyway someone explain and let me know what Im getting myself into and if it's worth it. Also how much do you usually make? That's always important.

Do you know any links to information/photos on John Hawkins? I saw a movie recently in which he is portrayed as a SUPPOSEDLY notorious criminal (he stood out for his elusiveness and his use of physical attractiveness for pulling his stunts), yet there is virtually no information about him on the internet?

WTF is up with these family violence calls - almost every night, with 15 minutes left on my shift, I'll get that same old dispatch to another damn wife beater (that's a baby mama beater to you street trash types) and I have to run code, driving at unsafe speeds (while I'm so tired from working car wrecks all day that I might as well be DUI) and then I have to deal with a drunk, angry lunatic, or several of them. And all I want to do is go home and crash on the couch with a can of spaghettios...

Do these gutless, scumbags time their beatngs with shift change? You can almost set your watch to it.

And while we're on the subject...what kind of cowardly, sissified loser hits a woman??? If you take a swing at a woman, you are official ball-less. Just carry a purse and wear a big bow in your hair - because only a woman hits another woman...
