Hey,
You do know the definition of 'ignorant' right? Assuming by your question I'm held unsure:
1. lacking knowledge or training: Hmm... then why is it that majority of knowledge I (as a 16-year-old) have is given by the help of Police Officers?
2. lacking information as to a particular subject or fact: When they are at scene they have to make a sudden decision that may either cause a death or save a life.
3. uninformed; unaware: You're saying they go to a major crime scene without any awareness or just end up there?
Please give it a rest. They are also human and make mistakes. You may admit to know so much than others but when time calls you'll make the same mistake as anyone else.
They are the ones that protect us. They are the ones willing to cross the front lines to save a life. They are the ones that deserve much more respect and integrity. And they will be there when you call.
Law Enforcement is different in all countries. I don't know where you live but let me provide an insight: here - in BC - the Police are very commendable and have excellence in policing. You'll get what you give.... there is a percentage of bad people in all professions. Just because 10% is wrong doesn't equally add up to the rest 90%... give it a chance and live life right.

The fact that you asked this question shows your ignorance. Are you willing to put your life on the line everyday and get underpaid for it. Police officers are just doing their job and trying to make a living like everyone else. The fact that they have authority over others makes some people dislike them. However if you are obeying the law you really shouldn't have a problem. I'll grant you some cops are jerks because they allow their authority to go to their heads, but most cops are just trying to make an honest living like you and me.

When a person decides to become a police officer; they go through tons of paperwork and tons of interviews. After being accepted they then must go throught many hours of rigerous training. After they finally get to the point where they can do what they were hired to do - then they are under an extremely 'watchful eye' until they can prove themselves, they must also know all of the laws for when they are summoned into courts, therefore, I do not consider police officers 'ignorant'.

um.. real life.. already shows their true ignorance ..and their true honor.
Police officers are human beings just like you and me; they're not super heroes.
.. they make mistakes too. But they're often held to a higher standard.. and that my friend is where some see their "fall".

44 Minutes: The North Hollywood Shootout. It was based on a true story and made the cops look completely stupid and incompetent. "Durrr yeah let's see if our little handguns are going to stop these guys!" "Don't worry! Our tiny guns can pierce Kevlar!" Yeah riiiight. The shootout went on for 43 minutes too long in the middle of North Hollywood.The fact that no cops died was sheer luck. The police department was actually sued by one of the gunman's relatives because he died before they got him help. I didn't know cops were allowed to just let somebody die.

I have a suggestion for you. When you are given the right to remain silent. Do so. Geesh what a leading question. Not every one hates cops. They have a tough job to do. I for one want to thank any police officer reading this for the work they do.
