Unless you are a famous footballer or celebrity who can afford to hire an expensive lawyer, or are a serving policeman, your chances of getting off on a speeding charge are remote. Only a fool would take it to court, as you would probably end up paying not only your own costs, but those of the police, and to add insult to injury, they'd probably increase the fine and points on your licence for good measure.

You used to get a few miles an hour grace, and although 36mph does not seem like much, your only chance of arguing it would be if you was driving an old car and could try and claim that your speedometer was not as exact as those on a more modern vehicle. Frankly though, you'd be clutching at straws, and as has been mentioned these loopholes are getting closed all the time. I agree with everybody else - take the three points and fine, and invest a few quid in one of those road atlases that tells you where cameras are or get a GPS system that warns of the same. Better still, just don't speed at all.

Sorry for the lecture but I have to agree with the above. I speed all the time, but never in a 30mph, thats just asking for a ticket.

Take the ticket like a man.

You must be crazy for speeding in a 30mph zone that is where 85% of all speed cameras are. Just pay the fine and don't speed in 30mph zones in future. Just try and remember us motorists are sitting targets. Chalk it down to experience. I speed all the time but NEVER in a 30mph zone. It is 30mph for a reason.

So you were speeding! What grounds do you have to challenge that? The limit was 30mph. You were doing 36mph!

I don't understand where you are coming from on this one. LIMIT is MAXIMUM permissible LIMIT. NOT whatever you CHOOSE!

You could always argue with the magistrates just remember they have the power to increase your fine and give you more points you will also be liable for costs

as a lot as 6 factors and £a million,000 nice, possibly community service and probation. If it flashed it stuck you. in case you've been driving and your pal takes the factors you may have dedicated fraud which typically consists of penal complex time. in case you admit to driving yet weren't insured you'll unavoidably be charged with that still which consists of 6-8 factors and £5,000 nice.

If you were doing 36mph in a 30 limit, you were speeding. What makes you think you can or should challenge it?
