O'dell Thurmond, Cincinnati Bengal footballer, got busted for DUI at a sobriety checkpoint reportedly blowing a 17 on the breathalyzer. According to the news, he was cited and released. It seems to me that this did not get the dangerous driver off the road but did put drunk driving at the level of "pay to play". So, Thurmond pays his fine and gets off scott free.
You or me they would throw under the jailhouse and lose the jackhandle.
How come this footballer got off?

Because he's been on T.V.

You will see this again when Paris Hilton is found "not guilty" of her DUI.
