This may be specific to Scots Law, but I have heard that if you are not satisfied with your meal in a restaurant, you can refuse to pay the full bill and offer to pay what you think it is worth and it is then up to the restaurant to pursue you for the menu price through the courts.

Why should prisoners get a free ride when everyone else has to work for a living? Plus, wouldn't more prisoners come out with valuable skills other than crime?

Mt mother allowed a woman to put a caravan on her land 3 years ago and didn't charge rent. This woman has fought with her daughter in my mothers hallway, turned up drunk and swearing and recently things have disappeared. The solicitor has been useless and is now handing it over to another solicitor. I just want this woman out of my 81 year old mum's life. Does anyone know the legal process? Serious answers only please.

My husband was divorced in the late 60's. My husband's 1st wife has never had anything to do with her kids. Her grandmother and my husband's family were the ones that raised them. They are 40+ years old and since the divorce papers say he had to pay thru court, which he was advised not to because the children would never get any benefit from it. The woman stayed in nightclubs and layed out with men, her grandmother told us. So to see the children were taken care of my husband, his family and even me made sure the children had what they needed. Now the grandmother is dead and no way to prove this. This woman is right now living with 3 men and about 30 inside dogs. My husband's check to her is paying for one of her men's pick-up truck. How can I get help.

A family member of mine is a police officer and that's considered a job from the government. Why does he still have to pay taxes? He's putting his life out there on the line. Why are other jobs paying higher when all those people do is sit around at a desk? And if you have anything to say about police brutality or law enforcement putting you down, STFU. They only do their job. Sure, they're a couple idiot cops who shouldn't even be in the brotherhood of law enforcement, but it doesn't mean all of them are like that. All of them are human, and if you ever had someone die to a drunk driver, you'd understand that it's hard to stand back and watch instead of take action.

A friend of mine got caught shoplifting in 1996 at a dept. store called Clover that went out of business in 1996. She got pulled over and got a ticket for a bad inspection and when she went to go pay the ticket, they said she had a warrant for retail theft from 1996. I have two questions about this situation: who would be the plaintiff for a store that went out of business 10 years ago and isn't there a statute of limitation on charges and warrants?

Last year in New Orleans the government took peoples guns away from them. These were law-abiding people that posed no threat to anyone. I believe this was a violation of their rights. What do you think.

My ex works for the sheriff's department. I moved away to go to school 2 1/2 hours away. Suddenly, he's here and has been calling and harrassing me. It's scary. He says his actual work site is at least a 30 minute drive away from the city I live in. So why isn't he living there? He's smack dab in the middle of the city where i live. What are the chances that his transfer is just a coincidence?
