Get a holster and wear it to bed with the gun in it.

Also wear tennis shoes, kneepads and football helmet in case you have to run, slide or smash your head into a wall.

Better wear a fireproof uniform in case of fire and may as well add a parachute in case you have to jump from the window.

The funny thing is that all of these events are more likely to happen than needing to fire a gun at night in your bed!

Inside your room and in the safety vault, if you will leave your house. Otherwise, if you are there, better keep it in a place where you can easily access to it when the need arouse (ie. side bed/under bed drawers or in the closet)
