My boyfriend is on probation (dui)... he is currently out of town, and considering not coming back. His next probation date is on the 14th, he says he just wants to stay out of the state and never come back, he's tired of this town yadda yadda yadda.
I've tried to talk some sense into him. I know a warrant for his arrest will be effective once he misses his probation... my question is: does anyone know the repurcussions of this action? WIll they hunt him down in another state? When he gets another job in another state will his soc sec # flag an they'll find him? If he gets pulled over in another state will it show in another states system that a warrent is out for his arrest? I'm trying to show him what kind of trouble he can actually be in if he follows through with his bone-headed idea. Does anyone know the legal ramifications?
Thanks!

I am a 21-year-old man and a sophomore in college.
I have a psychiatric disorder and take many kinds of medicines. One of the medicines I take caused severe mental adverse effects, and my emotional status was very unstable.
Only a week after I attempted suicide, I sneaked into a women's bathroom and tried to take pictures. I got caught and the victim filed charges against me. I am charged for 'invasion of privacy', a class D crime in the state.
I did not stand my trial yet, but I am sure I will be found guilty and be convicted. I will try to make an appeal that I was having emotional problems caused by adverse effects of psychiatric medicines. But I am not sure whether it will work.
People say that it will show up in the background check but it is a minor misdemeanor. But I am worried that it might affect me when I apply for graduate school or job in the future. Given the degree of the crime I committed, would you please answer whether it will or not?

The issue of registered sex offenders has become a witch hunt with hundreds of thousands of Americans as the victims. Some deserve it (child rapists, serial predators, etc.) but there are many, many people listed on the registries who have been falsely accused or who have committed a sex "offense" which many people don't believe should be registerable (peeing behind a tree, underage sex, mooning, etc.)

Many of these hundreds of thousands of sex offenders have families (wives, husbands, children, parents, siblings, friends) who are also being villified, harassed and made to fear for their lives. This is not right and is a direct violation of their due process and civil rights. Yet nobody seems to care. Yes, I am one of those family members and I fear for my life daily. (He was falsely accused of rape 20 years ago, and no, I will not abandon him!)

his public defender is saying that he most likely get 9-16 months and he has already served 6 and has yet to be arraigned. he has no prior record and the robbery was unarmed. he supposedly got away with 7 grand. i was just wondering how realistic is it for him to get 9-16 months considering this crime? it seems like too much of a lenient sentence for a crime like this. please answer if u have knowledge of this or your opinions are welcome.. and please tell me i dont need him as a friend. thanks

It was 1:30AM had just picked up a friend and his girlfriend officer saw this. followed us for 1 block turned on his lights I pulled into a walgreens store parking lot he said I was being stopped for no license plate light I said I had just checked it a few hours earlier and it was woking. He asked for my license registration and proof of insurance. I gave him lic. & reg. and told him I have insurance but dont have the proof card. He went to his car came back said I was under arrest for driving on a suspended license searched and cuffed me and put me in the back of his car. He then began searching my car w/out my permission. Inside my closed backpack he found drugs. I am a convicted drug felon but that was a long time ago and am not on any type of probation. When my car was picked up by a friend 15 min. later he noticed both my license plate lights were working fine. I was charged w/poss. of drugs but not driving on a suspended license. The officer lied about why he pulled me over.

Maybe the smart mouths out there are creating the problem! I got 22 warnings for speeding because I give them respect and talk to them as profesionals. I don't kiss *** or beg or *****. NOW, if a cop gets $hitty with me for no reason (maybe the last guy pissed him off) I take a little and THEN it's on! I have a clean record, no felonies and nothing to hide so I will take it as far as he wants to go with it! Get off their A$$'s because if I had to put up with what they put up with , I would be a total a$$ to smart A$$ punks!

Can the "perp" ask a question with out the cop being pissed? From the cop we get; where you going, where you been, who's your friend, where you work, and the list goes on.Yet if we ask a question the S.O.B. is real pissed then.

Some officer's jobs are traffic only. The only thing they do all day is look for traffic violations. Yet if they give a someone a ticket, they are being d*cks? Almost everyone who gets pulled over has an excuse. Is that the American dream? Being allowed to do what ever you want, because you think you are always right and the earth revolves around you. Some people complain that the cop was wrong to cite them something that they thought was petty, but it is their job. 1 mile over the speed limit is a crime (even if it is a small one). Laws are in place to in order to protect people, not harrass them. Cops do not write the laws, but they are sworn to enforce them. At what point should a cop call a "little" crime not worthy? Some say speeding isn't that bad, yet every year alot of people die as a result of speeding accidents. Some cops do abuse their power, but every profession has a similar groups. It is a sworn oath and we will always prtoect you, even if you don't want us to!

I drove thru a red at some temporary roadwork traffic lights and was pulled by a police car. I was issued with a fixed penalty notice. I always thought that with temporary lights, as long as you could see the other side ( in this case approximately 60 metres) and there was no traffic coming or waiting to come thru, you could drive through the red light. Can anyone tell me what the law is on this ?

I called the ser. on duty to find out why i was being looked for. He told me, since pos. was my only charge he would site me out in about 20 min. if i would turn myself in. Should i believe him, or keep hiding out until this Wednesday, which is my next courtdate and be cleared of that bench warrant, thus avoiding just one more felony arrest on my record? Also, is there a way to be put back on Calendar over the weekend or do i have to wait until Monday?
