I called the police department and they say I have to have her license to get it (she doesn't have a license). I asked the public defender and he told me that that he couldn't give it to me because it has confidential information in it.

Do you think that it would be feasible to trust a sex offender to register on his own after being set "free"? In consideration of the crime/s commited, do they have the "right" to be trusted to keep registering after every time they move or change jobs...Do you think it would be ethical to "micro-chip" a pedophile, or do you weigh more to the offender's rights, and let him waste tons of tax-payer dollars and let the victim be failed by a corrupt paper system,(granted, I know PO's have a lot of workload to keep up with and things can get jumbled from time to time.), and let the offender get away practically scot-free if he/she does not comply with registering terms? Just think, if you can "micro-chip" your beloved pet at the local vet, to assure of his/her safety, why wouldn't you "chip" a pedophile to know where he is?

In Georgia if served a misdemeanor bad check warrant and full restitution is made at that time and you do not go to court -- what is that outcome? Are you guilty by plea or judgment?

I was shopping today and the clerk would not sell a 6-pack of beer to a guy (who was 25 years old) because he was shopping with a guy (his step brother) who is less than 21 years of age. I heard the clerk say it was a Michigan State law but I have serious doubts. Where can I see the Michigan law that either debunks or confirms the clerks assertion.

his public defender is saying that he most likely get 9-16 months and he has already served 6 and has yet to be arraigned. he has no prior record and the robbery was unarmed. he supposedly got away with 7 grand. i was just wondering how realistic is it for him to get 9-16 months considering this crime? it seems like too much of a lenient sentence for a crime like this. please answer if u have knowledge of this or your opinions are welcome..

Paraphrased:

"There is no need to go the station directly. If, for some reason, an investigator needs to speak with you, he or she will contact you."

The way I read it goes like this:

"It is a waste of our time for you to come to the station; however, if we need to talk to you about something, your telephone will ring."

If a police stop you for speeding and you thought you have been driving the speed limit instead of 25mph you thought it was 35mph. And you have lived in the area for twenty years and do not know that the speed limit was 25mph. Do you have the right to be given a warning or a ticket. What if if the police is in a motorcycle and say to you that they do not give a warning ticket?
