I dont mean serious criminals, I mean just common people who might make a mistake. Do you think our little lives mean anything to them?

there are a lot of people in law enforcement from cops all the way up to federal judges who drink and drive, beat their wives and kids, pick up prostitutes, and do all of the things that they arrest and convict other people for, but they dont seem to be paying for it. I think any public servant who breaks thier own laws should get double for it. And these backwoods jailors who have decided on the guilt of their wards, before they even go to trial, should spend some time on the other sides of the bars. I realize that its not an easy or delightful job, and I wouldnt want to do it, but a lot of these people get just a little too high and mighty. I know that people get themselves into trouble, but there are too few understanding people on the side of the law who are forgetting the fine line between themselves and thier "prey"

I realize that there are some good people out there working concientiously to keep the thugs off of the streets, I have met some of them, and I respect them for the job they do. The people who i am most concerned with, however, are these self important jerks who think they own the town., because they have created an avenue of income for themselves, and it doesnt stop there, there are so called therapists, councelors, and all manor of agencies who are nothing more than remoras sucking what crumbs they can get from folks who made some bad decisions, I am not siding for these people, yes they should be responsible for their own actions, and made to see the error of their ways, but not to the point of taking food from the mouths of their families, so countless agencies can get their peice of the pie. when the so called services they require you to attend often only cause more problems.this is what i mean by having your lives ruined. Once a person is sentenced, there is little concern.

The best I can say is this: If your life becomes out of control enough to where the police and courts get involved, You will be sorry, and probably broke.

Most prosecutors and Judges don't have time to laugh at that kind of
thing. They are usually incredibly busy people.
Personal lawyers, on the other hand, well, there are times I wonder
how they can get up in the morning. However, like rats in the
eco-chain, the perform a necessary function.

Man, this sounds too familiar. Why is it that every person that I am arresting for Drinking & Driving offences always feel it's important to tell me that I am ruining thier lives. This is when they find it convenient to remember that they will lose thier job because of me if they are charged, that they have a wife and kids at home, and so on. Why couldn't they think of all this when they were pounding back the drinks and getting behind the wheel? It's called being responsible and taking the consequences of YOUR own actions. When you make a mistake and screw up, it is YOU that ruin your life - not the police, not the lawyers, not the courts.

They don't have the time to notice. I went into court for a hearing as a minor, and my verdict was on a piece of paper before i walked in the door. He didn't look at anything I had, I actually didn't even get to talk. It was a dialogue between the public defender and the DA, and then the judge stepped in and read his paper, and signed what the DA gave him, and I left. What I find funny is how I have a right to free legal services and a fair trial by a jury of my peers, and I got in and there's no jury, and the cop that arrested me, the prosecutor who decides what I'm charged with and how much time I get, the judge who signs whatever the prosecutor hands him, and MY LAWYER all get their money from the same place. Kind of ironic, I was actually thinking about calling the ACLU, but I got over it.

Depends on the circumstances, but yes, sometimes. First of all, some people just do stupid stuff and it's funny. Other times we laugh at how ignorant people can be. Sometimes we laugh and make crude jokes as a coping mechanism for all of the crap we have to put up with. Lawyers, DA's, cops, judges all see the very ugliest side of human nature, and as a result can develop a rather dark sense of humor. It's really not personal.

A lot of lawyers are crooks no doubt, I know some and they laugh at people and some are mean spirited, there are some good ones here and there most are just looking at what they or their friends can steal, they work together in a network.
