If a police stop you for speeding and you thought you have been driving the speed limit instead of 25mph you thought it was 35mph. And you have lived in the area for twenty years and do not know that the speed limit was 25mph. Do you have the right to be given a warning or a ticket. What if if the police is in a motorcycle and say to you that they do not give a warning ticket?

That happened to me, once. The road is 45mph for most of the way, but turns to 35 mph the last 10 miles or so, because it goes through a neighborhood. I just cruised on up that street at 45, thinking I was going the right speed limit.
But, here's the thing: The speed limit WAS POSTED. And, there was another sign before it that said, "REDUCED SPEED AHEAD".
I just had never really paid that close attention, before. So I was, indeed, in the wrong. Nothing like a ticket to make you pay closer attention.

Check your street out again. I'm willing to bet the speed limit is posted.

there is no such thing as a right to a warning. The only thing you have a right to, is a hearing before a magistrate is you desire one. True, some departments have a no warning policy. Seems like if you lived in an area 20 years, and probably have driven there many times, you need to be a little more observant.

you have the right to be quiet and sign for the ticket, there are no rights of the person who is speeding. You can try and tell the judge and see if they accept the story.

A officer depending on the department rules do not have to give warning tickets, ( they are merley a waste of paper since they have no legal value)

Ooops, now you know. Ignorance of the law is no reason to be relieved of having to follow it.
