I called the ser. on duty to find out why i was being looked for. He told me, since pos. was my only charge he would site me out in about 20 min. if i would turn myself in. Should i believe him, or keep hiding out until this Wednesday, which is my next courtdate and be cleared of that bench warrant, thus avoiding just one more felony arrest on my record? Also, is there a way to be put back on Calendar over the weekend or do i have to wait until Monday?

Hello, you don't have a clue, showing up for your next court date will not clear you from the bench warrant, unless the judge wishes to hear the bench warrant case, but most likely the failure to appear charge ( will be a new added charge) will be heard at a latter date.

Most likely you would be arrested in the court room prior to your case being called even and then also msss that court date also.

Get your attorney to work out a deal to turn yourself in..

No, don't believe him. You won't get cited out in 20 minutes--you'll get arrested and booked in. Sounds like you've got some real legal troubles that need the help of a good criminal attorney, not just the people here on Yahoo Answers. As soon as a bench warrant is issued the search begins. Did you think there was a grace period or something to give you a head start?

that FTA is a separate warrant from the bench warrant. You've already shown an unwillingness to comply so I wouldn't expect it to go that well on Wednesday. You took a most likely misdemeanor charge and tacked on a felony.

Odds are good, you will get additional penalties tacked on for the FTA. No time served, most likely no probation.

You want to better your odds, go turn yourself in.

I don't think you can hide from the law anymore. With Google Earth they can find a pimple on your *** if they want to besides if you are wanted on a misdemeanor offense you might as well get it over with. Try to stay clean and out of trouble if you can and if you need some tips just tune into the board.

"and be cleared of that bench warrant, thus avoiding just one more felony arrest on my record"

If you have more than one I think you know more about this than I do. However, not having one more seems better anyway.

Turn yourself in.. bench warrants are petty, but they generally will catch you at a most inconvenient time.. (caught me on my way to work -- DJing at a bar, ended up having to get one of the waitresses to come post bail for me)

I had a warrant for a couple years once. Be really careful and don't get pulled over until you get it taken care of. If you get pulled over, your *** is grass....ya know? Just do your best to take care of it, and in the meantime, lay low.

I suggest finding a cheap lawyer and going to turn yourself in with him. A lawyer would help you straighten it out and make sure there's no funny business. It may cost you a bit, but it'll make your life easier.

DON'T BE STUPID!! TURN YOURSELF IN! IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BELIEVING HIM, YOU ARE THE ONE WITH THE WARRANT! ONCE YOU FTA, A BENCH WARRANT WILL BE POSTED OUT FOR YOU THAT SAME DAY.

WHY WOULDN'T YOU SHOW UP ON A SCHEDULED COURT DATE? NOT SHOWING UP ARE GROUNDS FOR ARREST.
