The statement I received was dated in late October 2007, and they are trying to say that I did not pay my $30 copay from July 2006. I have no proof that I did pay this, (I honestly cannot remember that long ago) but I don't understand why they didn't send this through to me much sooner then if it wasn't paid?! Is there some sort of limit on the time they have to send me an invoice for payment (like 1 year)? I am not just trying to get out of paying this, but I feel like they are taking advantage of their position and trying to get more money... if I don't pay it then, I am afraid they will send it to collections... I have great credit so I don't want to jeopardize that, but I also don't just want to give into something I don't believe is right!

Please help, thank you!

I want to send a letter to a family member but I would rather they didn't know my current address. Is it illegal to send a letter with an old address on it? If it is, can you send one with no return address on it, and have it actually delivered?

I was wondering about the Florida law that says you must change the address on your driver's license within 10 days of moving. Well, I was wondering if this applies to students. I recently moved to attend college, and I am living off-campus in an apartment. Am I required to change my license address to my apartment address?

my wife probably isn't coming back home and she has my son. I only agreed to her going to visit family for a month with our son so we can have space. The month is over and we're going on 1 1/2 months. We aren't legally seperated, but I heard something like if she took my son without me agreeing to it, she could get in trouble. I know she won't be coming home within the next 1 1/2 months. Is there anything in the law that is against it?

The contract says "Liquidated damages in the amount of 100% of the "anticipated room night and banquet food and beverage revenue figures" will be due to the resort.

What I had booked was:
- a catered meal with 3,000 minimum
- a banquet room (which was free if i met the meal minimum
- hotel rooms (final numbers for the rooms were due a month ago and confirmation of all numbers were due today)

It's three days before the event. I understand I owe the food minimum, but the hotel rooms too? That doesn't seem right. Because it says individual reservations may be cancelled without penalty 48 hours prior to arrival.

Is there a way I can find out demographics of the voters who voted for and against California's Proposition 209? I'd like to know how many voted total, their race, socioeconomic status, how many for it, how many against it, etc. Is there a website/book/whatever where I can find these statistics?

I now receive the magazines (have received 5), but Penthouse has assured me i will not be charged. I have the online email confirmation where the person (I know who it was) falsely used my name, ordered the magazine and had it billed and sent to my home address. Penthouse will not give me the IP address, and before I began receiving the magazines the local PD said it was not enough just ordering it online to make a case.

Does actually receiving the magazines now elevate the matter? Is this anything such as mail fraud?

Got the car 5 years ago from Welcome finance company the interest on it is sky high, we have been paying so much every month for 5 years ( the payment was reduced due to loss of my job) we had problems with the car, gear box broken, few other bits that are not working so we decided to get rid of it, we called them to ask them to take it back, they said i must write a letter with a reason, i wrote them a letter 6 weeks ago, explaining why we had to give the car back, they did not reply until two days ago they rang us, saying they have requested the RAC to come & assessment of the vehicle. the RAC came this morning & said the vehicle condition report comes up to £748.39 which we have to pay!! we rang the company told them we aint paying, they said they would get back to me, anyway the car was untaxed because i cancelled my insurance policy and told the welcome finance to take it away before the tax runs out 31st octoner 2007, now car is clamped today! we cant afford to pay to remove it

My sister was removed from my mothers home through a safety plan by the MCF. I am a student, I can't work due to my lack of availability now, I can't leave school in order to work as I would then be forced to start paying back student loans I can't afford.I should be receiving $400.00 a month from the ministry of finance for 'child in home of relative', but these forms only just got sent in after 2 months because the parents refused to sign the form. The mother is still receiving child support for the child I am caring for, yet she still has the gall to offer us money and then tell us she cant afford to help! That is what that money is for right? I realize she needs to keep the roof over her head but her and her spouse are obviously much better off than my boy friend and I, and even if they weren't it's HER responsibility. I will care for my sister regardless, but was hoping someone had advice, legal or otherwise, as to options. I probably don't have any but I'm just so frustrated.

Today a friend of mine was in court for a hearing in Pennsylvania, drove from Georgia to appear for the hearing, an 18 hour drive.
The judge called both attorneys into his chambers and when they came out they were laughing, the judge proceeded to postpone the hearing until February 12th, then laughed and said "Let's make it February 14th, Valentines day, maybe then the two love birds will kiss and make up."
The "two lovebirds" in question have been divorced for over 10 years and the ex wife has been remarried for several years. The hearing was regarding child support.
I fail to see anything funny with the way the judges/attorneys in Pennsylvania treat people from out of state, especially men that are in accordance with their child support.

*With him should he file a complaint?
*Has anyone every filed a complaint in Pennsylvania, if so, what, if anything, happened?

I'd like to hear what you have to say if you are the non custodial parent with the children living in PA.

Why dont they just put a ban on importation? Maybe not a complete ban, but ban everything that cannot be produced right here in the US.

It would force industries to stay in the US, creating more jobs etc., it would help end child labor and slave wages, wich is what so many industries use outside of US, and then sell there products in the US... With the technology available now a days, we could make the US completely self sufficient... Why dont we?

The exact law in the books with definitions would be ideal. Also any other relevant law dealing with online music piracy, as well as online music sharing would be most beneficial.

I have had my listing removed from ebay for no real reason. I have been selling customised clothing on ebay.
I was selling Foo Fighters tops with logo. But the Logo I used is not copyrighted!! How can they remove my listings saying I am breaching copyright or trademark laws.
I HAVE ALWAYS LISTED MY ITEMS AS CUSTOMISED.
Also I had some band photo T-shirts. I made sure that nothing I use is copyrighted before I list my items but my items were still removed!!!
Are there any lawyers out there that know about these matters?
They are telling me i have broken the law but as far as I can see I have done NOTHING wrong.

SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE
YOUR OPINIONS ARE APPRECIATED. THANKS.

This is probably going to sound really corny, but I'm 18 years old, and I'm in a relationship with a 17 year old. I try to tell my mother that in our state, which is Ohio, the age of consent is 16, and if we would ever start having sex (which I don't see in the near future), I would be fine, unless his mother has a problem with it. When I try to tell her this, she doesn't want to hear anything about it and she gets all mad... I have indeed done research, though... and she starts saying, "I'm a parent. I know nothing. You're a teenager. You know everything." And that truly ticks me off.
I need 2 things.
One: (This is going to sound really dumb.) Age of consent is where the younger party, in this case, a 17 year old, can agree to have sex, right? Or am I missing something here?
Two: How in God's name can I convince my mother about all this?
Someone, please help.
