i was arrested and posted bond in the same county that i supposedly had a past bond from 1998 for 1000$. It was from 1998 and it was for traffic tickets. i went to court and was told to do community service. my recruiter then sent me into the air force and told me that it was taken care of because i enlisted. so i was wondering why didnt they send me like 30 minutes away to take care of that past bond. i was in the jail and everything in the same county and they didnt send me to the other town to jail? whats some possible reasons why that happened? i have court and i want to know if theyll find out about it then too.

"an unjust law is no law at all"...this is an old saying....if this is true i think we have the discretion to disobey unjust laws.it is the duty of every citizen to follow laws... as unjust laws are not laws we have the right to disobey such laws. Is this correct?

please try to explain your answer

My ex partner and I went through a lot of crap a while ago and so we took our case to court over our young son when we split up. The court put visitation/joint custody orders in and so I see him once a week for 8 hours on a Saturday.

For the past few months though we've been getting along fine, and now we're wondering if we HAVE to follow the orders as were set out by the court, or can we just do as we please? It seems a bit silly that we now stay at each others houses at random days of the week and see our son all the time together, yet on a weekend we have to muck about going to a contact centre to drop him off, then I pick him up, and we go home again together anyway, then do it in reverse 8 hours later!

I do wanna keep the orders there just in case something goes wrong again and then my rights to see my son once a week are protected, but are we required by law to follow those orders or can we just put them away indefinitely?

Our next door neighbors house is a drug house and it has been for a year. There is trash piled up in the yard and junkies and gang members coming and going all hours of the night. Prostitutes and pimps fighting. There cops always show up there and sometimes take people to jail. Our house has been broken into and our cars too. Many times in the last year. We have called the health dept. and the cops lots of times. And this is not a bad neighborhood. Just one bad house.

I was the only one in my defensive driving class who took the time to think about it for a couple of seconds. It may sound good, and with it, to say driving is a privilege and not a right but it actually makes no sense. There are no government privileges in the United States of America. We live under the rule of law. For something to be a privilege some one or some part of the government would have to grant that privilege. A class member tried to argue that driving in not a right because it's not like voting. (its conditional) My argument back was that voting isn't absolute either. You lose it when you're get convicted of a velony. They also tried to say a judge can take away your driving privileges. Thats stupid too. First, a judge can't do anything unless a case is presented to him and second they have to state in the law why they are taking your ability to drive away.

I have noticed like every one of you that some of our problems in a mean way are not meant to be solved soon . my mother died because her liver was not functioning any more and the surprise for me was not only that there was no cure to kill the hepatitis in the first place but the presidential veto on any reserch regarding stem cells which could saved her life and millions of people with her . when i thought about it i found that we have other cases not ment to be solved either like global warming
so i thought i should leave this to you guys to say what you think that was denied solvimg . we may a word to be heard .

i have some friends that smoke pot in the car all the time and i was wondering if this was stupid of them? i know its illegal and all, but they way they use it is fine. They are both smart girls, and they never get in trouble. so would smoking pot while driving be stupid if they drive carefully?
what would you do if you saw some one smoking?
is that an obvious thing when you drive by a car if they're smoking or not?

and dont waste your time telling me that pot is illegal. and dont tell me that they're sooo stupid for doing it while driving. They wouldnt have to drive around if pot was legal. So please no negative comments. it will just be a waste of ur time.

thanks.

Long story short. I sued a small battery company for selling me a battery that was inaccurate and defective for $70. Now, after I won, how do I collect from the owner. I talked to him and he refuses to give the $$$, or refund, or exchange. He says he wants to stay friends, and he likes me? Not interested in his charm or output.

What are the ways in Los Angeles California that I could go about getting this money? Lien on his property? Or what?

For example, is there a right to smoke a "peace pipe", kill a chicken, have two wives, not embalm the dead, refuse to allow a relative a blood transfusion, etc?" How do they decide what's legal?

The first amendment says:
"Congress can make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of differences."

The story goes: The Toronto Subway receives intelligence fr. Canada's spy agency that some terrorist dudes are planning to explode a bomb during rush hr. the agency gives specific time and says that the info is "reliable" but declines to provide more info. So the subway ppl and the police pick subjects @ random at every train station and expose them to bag and body searchese. a disproportionate # of young Muslim men and women are targeted. some are forced into a specialized search rooms while others are patted won alongside the track. in teh sosck of one of the search target the police finds a cellophone bag containing crack cocaine.

So, does the police violate the right to privacy of these targeted people?
p.s. it is a law homework and concerns about right to privacy and breach of charter. these are serious stuff and i am on the fence right now. man, i need help!

I'm 25 years old, just recently graduated college. I have been babysitting my girlfriend's friend's daughter who is 12 years old, for about a week now. She is known to be a troublemaker in school but has good grades. Last month while babysitting her, i took away a toy from her for disobeying me, I caught her on phone with friend when she was to be studying. She got upset, cried and ran to her room and slammed the door.
I went up to talk to her, and she was on phone with police, i immediately unlocked door and tried to make her put the phone down. The cops came and she started crying saying i raped her and held her in her room hostage. They charged me with Rape, and Kidnapping, took me to jail, i'm out on bail now. She lied, and filed charges against me! I never touched her. I Hired a lawyer, and there's nothign i can do, except wait till grand jury and, its her word against mine in front of a jury. Even if there is no evidence, from rape kit, i can be convicted!!
how could this happen?

injured my knee badly and called Ask-A-Nurse I explained my injury to the nurse and she said call 9-1-1 and be transported to the hospital because my knee was swollen, cut, hot, painful, looked crooked and I was unable to apply pressure to my leg at all. I told the nurse I will have my fiancee drive me to the hospital and she said ok make sure I go right away. I went in and had X-rays and was examined by the doctor. She said that I had not broke or damged my knee at all and I needed to stay off my leg for a day or two and apply ice and keep the ace bandage on it. She gave me Ibprofen 800 for pain. I am still in a lot of pain and now I have a doctor bill, I already filled an accident report with the store so what do I do now...? Am I able to get money for pain and suffering cause a few people told me I could...? do i get a lawyer or what? THE REASON I FELL WAS ON A STRIPE PAINTED ON THE GROUND WHICH WAS SLIPPERY WHEN WET!! I've been thinking about it for a while, and it seems to me that it is. An example is when somebody says boyakasha which means Death to white people, and it is even used in adverts, the phrase isn't widely known as a racist phrase, but neither is 'Half-Caste' which is racist to mixed race people, and I'm sure if that was used in an advert there would be an uproar

Recently i discovered something in my boss's office.
The consiquences could effect a lot of people.
I am his Personal Assistant and we get on very well, to the point where i have met his wife.
His wife is my g/f's cousin and it is through us that they met.
The discovery was very 'obscene' photographs and lets say a quantity of very illegal white powder. Also brochures to varius 'madame's', and strip bars with phone #'s hand written on them.
The photo's are graphic, involving him. several women, and men, in very provocative and sexual situations poses. The photo's were taken in tourist spots and public places in London Brighton and Cornwall.
Upon checking his diary, for when he visited those places, he has charged the hotel fees to the company. These womens servises aren't cheap.
Do i keep it quiet,? Do i tell his wife? Do i tell the company? If he's fired, we lose a major contract. 103 people are made redundant. He's leading a project. for us, without him we lose 6 months work.

In 2004, dad was hospitalized with baseline dementia, & visual hullucinations. Mom signed dads name to a quitclaim deed and irrevacoble trust without dads knowledge in dads hospital room with her son-in law (the attorney) with no-one else in the room. Just dad, mom, and attorney son-in-law, who told mom to just sign dads name to this, He never told mom what she was signing, read this to mom, nor did mom read what it was she signed dads name to. (mom was 78 yrs old at time and is not an attorney , she would not understand what she was reading anyway. He has never given mom a copy. 3 yrs of asking him for a copy of" what-ever it was he had me sign my husbands name to." Son-in law attorney never has given Mom a copy. Always an excuse. These documents were then witnessed by him& his wife(moms natural daughter) who was a RN working at the same time&hospital dad was a patient in, then attorney son-in-law notorized these documents with his own notory seal that dad signed his own name.

For some reason in these past couple of months there is an incredible amount of robberies in bank after bank in Miami Dade County and Broward County. So many that I would say it totals up to same amount taken place in a few decades altogether! In Broward County one of the employees was fitted with a bomb mechanism around his neck which was successully removed and detonated.

And needless to talk about ARMORED TRUCK robberies!...Oh, and there's an increased amount of armed robberies as well to pharmacies all over South Florida.

Is this a new trend? Is there more to all this? Where's the police? I know in one particular city the police is very unhappy with their chief and want to get rid of him. And in a very wealthy city in same county police officers had wanted a raise, but I just can't truly believe they're not doing their jobs!!!

I use to have that doctor, L, and now he's moved out of town, I go to the doctor, O, who is in there now. (I went to that doctor L, off and on in the 1980's and into the early 2000's) This weekend I heard that my doctor O, took all the old patient records from L, and just dumped them into the trash not bothering to shred them. The Newspaper found out about this and gave him a call, all he could say was "NO COMMENT" This Dr. O is NOW my doctor, what are my rights? What can I do?
