Sorry to hear that but it sounds like an unfortunate accident.
I do not think they are liable for your "accident", last time I checked stripes painted in the parking lot, cross walk and etc are not req to say "slippery when wet".

A stripe was slippery when wet? And there have been no media warnings telling people to keep away from stripes, they are dangerous? My God, call Homeland Security, CSIS, and MI-5, you have stumbled upon the test stripe of the latest weapon from Osama bin Laden, and if they do not act immediately, the Western population could be decimated by slip-n-fall injuries and deaths!
Slippery stripes, how devious can they get?

This doesn't sound like a case I'd take up. Owners of public places do have an obligation to maintain safe environments and post warnings when extra care is called for -- say during renovations. But common law expects individuals to be responsible and to exhibit extra caution when conditions dictate. For example you mentioned that it was wet outside so you'd be expected to watch out for slickness.
You might speak to the store manager if you have incurred uninsured medical expenses. It could be that the store would cover your out of pocket expenses as a matter of goodwill. Don't be confrontational and don't expect to make something for your pain and suffering.

Maybe you were wearing the wrong kind of shoes? You have to prove the store was negligent. I've seen 'Caution, Wet Floor' signs INSIDE a store, but I've NEVER seen or HEARD of a 'Caution, Wet Stripe On The Ground' warning.
It was an accident. Heal and get over it.

You won't collect unless you sue, probably, although the store may try to settle out of court. You will need to hire an attorney, and if you win the attorney will get one-third of the money.
You can expect your direct medical expenses to be paid, and possibly your attorney's fees, but probably little or nothing for pain and suffering. Those sorts of damages tend to be paid when there's been long-term pain unrelieved by any medication, or long-term disability.
The place where I exercise walk has added stripes recently, and they're slippery as hell when they're wet!

First of all before you get slaphappy about filing a lawsuit, you need to talk to the store and see if they will pay the bill. If so, great. As far as pain and suffering, let it go and move on and be a decent human being and chalk it up as a misfortune.
SECOND OF ALL,,, is this common practice???? First you slip inside a mall, then you slip in a parking lot??? Hmmmm

You can sue anyone for anything. Yes, you can get a lawyer and maybe, MAYBE get some money from the store, but it was an accident. People sueing for reasons like this is why our legal system is so screwed up. It was an accident, they didn't mean for it to happen.

Is it something you could work out with the store manager? Perhaps ask them to pay your medical bills and any other related expenses incurred. Could you also ask them to take care of the stripe so others don't fall. It is likely their insurance company will settle with you without involving an attorney or going to court. If they balk you could possibly take them to small claims court to get reimbursement.
Accidents happen. Just glad you weren't hurt worse
Hope you feel better soon.

Back again huh?
Still trying to get free money because you were clumsy.
Fine - sue the store. You might even win.
Then the store will have to raise its prices to pay for your phony lawsuit.
Thanks.
This is why we need tort reform.
"Pain and suffering" - Give me a BREAK.
