Government-paid journalists
On September 8, 2006, Miami Herald's president Jesús Díaz Jr. fired three journalists because they had allegedly been paid by the United States Government to work in anti-Cuba propaganda TV and radio channels. The three were Pablo Alfonso, Wilfredo Cancio Isla and Olga Connor.[4]. Less than a month later, and following the pressure of the Cuban community in Miami, Díaz resigned after reinstating the fired journalists. Nevertheless, he continues claiming that such payments, especially if coming from organisms of the state, violate the principles of journalistic independence[5]. At least seven other journalists that do not work at the Herald, namely Miguel Cossio, Carlos Alberto Montaner, Juan Manuel Cao, Ariel Remos, Omar Claro, Helen Aguirre Ferre, Paul Crespo and Ninoska Perez-Castellón, were also paid for programs on Radio Martí or TV Martí [6], both financed by the government of the United States through the Broadcasting Board of Governors, receiving a total of between 15,000 and 175,000 USD since 2001.

My wife sustained injury due to a medical product and I'm wondering what kind of information we need to provide a law firm. Can/do they (the lawyers) do any investigating on their own or do we have to provide them all the information they need?
What exactly is necessary for us to file a lawsuit? What can we hope to gain?
Thanks in advance.

I tried to defend myself against a Temporary Restraining Order (TOR) and did not do a very good job in getting my side of the events before the judge, forgot to ask a few questions of the witness that would have brought some details to light and failed to sum up my position at the end of the hearing. Needless to say I am not an Attorney and did not know what I was doing or what to expect. Now that I have a TOR filed against me for the next 3 years is it possible to hire an attorney and challenge the original ruling against me?

I get have two pay periods a month (from the 1st to the 15th and from the 16th to the 31st). The problem is this: For my first paycheck I was paid 1560. If I figured it out hour for hour though and it would come out to be 1728. 1992 - 1728 = 264 dollars. In theory, if a person works long enough it would all even out in the end. The company is being sold in Februrary and I have calculated that I will never recoup that money. The accounting department acknowledged the problem, but they shrugged it off. Do I have any legal recourse in this situation?

BTW, In the the hiring negotiations we discussed a dollar wage, not a yearly salary. Also, I am just a little peeved that this sort of sloppy accounting is going on in the 21st century with computers that can figure out complex wage equations in seconds.

The reason is because she has primary and physical custody is back in May 5/ 2005 Me and my Daughters Father went our seperate ways I was in another relationship and my mother kept telling me that she would take care of my daughter for me until I could properly care for her myself. but little did I know there was a catch and as soon as I got there my mother said we should get a letter stating that I give her sole custody and She would need that letter notarized by me so in case of any medical emergencies there would be no problem if not She would not accept her. I did however signed that letter and went back to las vegas. I kept in touch with her and spoke to my daughter everyday on a cell phone. Before 6 mos I called my mom and told her I was coming to get my daughter to take her back with me My dad got on the phone and said that I should give up and forget about her have another kid. Of course I did not agree with that. 2 weeks after that conversation I got served for temp custody

I had my friend put an item on eBay that sold and the money was posted to his account. He shipped the item and paid me a certain portion of the money up front in cash and still owes me because of ATM daily cash limits. A few days later, apparently, the transaction was fraudulent, and the full amount of the money was taken out of his PayPal account, leaving him in the red. He is now asking for the money he gave me back. Because I lost my item (he had already shipped it) my argument is that I shouldn't give him the money. What would be the right path here?

I'm coming from an abusive mother, who as I got older has been verbally abusive to the extreme. And when I was younger, physically. Basically, I'm sick of her crap.

At 20 years old I'm a recent college graduate and ready to leave. I have a lot of bills that are preventing me from saving money to move and even buy myself clothes. Is there some type of government assistance? At least with help paying rent? Anything really.

Thanks

They just had a baby. Very Christian family. Ha! They have been dating since he was 14 and the mother didn't care. He was also cheating on his gf with my daughter. He's been calling us saying his gf is a prick and he wants to take the baby and run away. Of course, we told the girl about this. This kid has ADD or something. But an adult with a minor or is that 'NORMAL' behavior for North Carolina??? I hate this state, xcept for NASCAR! Thats why I'm here!

I signed a contract for a lease on a new vehicle Jan 4th, 2006. Unforeseen events have since occurred and I am now trying to get out of my lease. I took a look at my contract provided by my dealership and noticed all the dates were wrong. It says that I signed the contract Jan 4th 2005. It says this on my warranty too. The documents are signed by myself, a co-signer, and the business manager of the dealership. I am not sure how this date slipped past all of us. Can I exploit this and somehow get out of my lease? What are my options? A response would be greatly appreciated, as I do not have a very knowledgeable background in contract law. Thanks.

Check this out, posted by the times:

A senior judge has called for the entire population and anyone visiting Britain to have their DNA placed on a national database.

Lord Justice Sedley says a nation-wide bank of DNA profiles would help to tackle crime and correct an imbal-ance in profiles stored by police.

Basically, DNA is something no one can argue with, your phone has GPRS cababilities as it is, your phone calls and texts are kept for 4 years for "anti terrorism" laws.

Perhaps i see the world in a different light, but if every man woman and child has a DNA record then that is the coffin on any society i am prepared to live in. I would rather be dead and this is no joke. I already feel like a clone as it is, i get CCTV'd. Your life could be mapped just from your physical environment...

If my privacy will be that erroded, ill murder whoever made that final choice and be a patriot for freedom.

Would anyone be by my side or do you read this and not see a issue?
