They just had a baby. Very Christian family. Ha! They have been dating since he was 14 and the mother didn't care. He was also cheating on his gf with my daughter. He's been calling us saying his gf is a prick and he wants to take the baby and run away. Of course, we told the girl about this. This kid has ADD or something. But an adult with a minor or is that 'NORMAL' behavior for North Carolina??? I hate this state, xcept for NASCAR! Thats why I'm here!

Not statutory rape in NC because he has reached the age of consent (16 in NC). But why would you want to know? Pressing charges in this instance would make an already bad situation much worse. And who calls a female a "prick?" And NASCAR kind of sucks.

Age of consent in NC is 16, so she's old enough, legally to have sex. Statutory rape is carnal knowledge of a child between the ages of 13 and 15.

It is not statutory rape in NC. 16 is the age of consent in NC and she is not too old according to the law. Nothing would happen to him is under 18.

The age of consent in North Carolina is 16. Sounds like everyone is legal. Besides, in this case as the boy is younger if they were having sex before he was 16 SHE would go to jail, not him.

Letting their 14-year-old get it on with an adult, huh? Just like Jesus would want, right? Ick. Unfortunately, it's technically legal, but as we all know, legal doesn't make it right.
I'm not sure, based on your description, how you happen to be related to this situation, but I would advise the adult mother of this baby to work out an airtight child custody arrangement before the little retard actually does something bad. There's a reason that 16-year-olds shouldn't have kids.

No, that's not statutory rape.
And to be honest, the age gap isn't the problem. The fact that they have a child is. Your daughter needs to move on and not waste her time with that boy.

little die cast babies cant handle it, if you cannot handle it get out. Furthermore, you could not ride a go-cart with a 5hp Briggs n Stratton engine.
