K, Having Communicated With you, I Realized this was a Simple Mistake, but Others May Be Inclined to Read a Sh$tload Into this, that Really isn't There.

Psychic Cat, Women Have Been Hit On By Heterosexual Men for Years, it is More Appropriate that they Should Be Outraged.

I'm not as well informed on this as I'd like to be, but to my understanding so far, & this would differ from state to state, it "may" have been a misdemeanor. However I'm fairly certain he did NOTHING lewd or worthy of all this fuss. It's amusing that men are now going to be "scared" to use rest rooms! Let's all panic over a little "toe tapping."
The "punishment" is from people blowing this totally out of proportion.
K's answer was excellent. As for Wayne, Craig's son & daughter have indeed shown public support. I believe it was on Larry King that a "team" opined about this farce, & a psychologist had the audacity to "profile" him as a latent homosexual who, (as she said in essence), is critical of what he hates in himself. This whole thing is just too absurd.

Edit: mdGreg, I don't quite understand your comment as I don't see how it relates to anything in my answer?

K~I'm delighted that I made you laugh. When I looked at my answer again, (re mdGreg's comment), the scared of restrooms reminded me of the hoopla of homosexuals in the military, & the heterosexual "fear" of showers. #1. They are all so very, very irresistible! #2. They are such wimps they can't defend themselves, & by gum, they will be RAPED!

Oh, let's go for it & have an O.J. TV trial. Something to entertain the homophobics other than...........with themselves.

As I've said before the whole thing is despicable from every angle. From the tapes the arrest will be torn apart in court by any decent lawyer. The Republican party was tripping over themselves in self-righteous haste to get rid of him, Craig himself in both acceptance of the charges and denial, still judgmental of homosexual behaviour, and hedging his bets by intending to resign. If the public arena isn't bad enough, I'm sure something was waiting for him at home with his wife that was probably far worse. Courts be hanged, with our media and rampant homophobia who needs them? Maybe, if just once, there was a court decision that addressed the inordinate power of mob mentality in this country.

I think the way this whole thing with Craig has been handled is disgusting. His behaviour, which was at best "flirting" was deemed illegal ONLY because it coincides with what heterosexual people claim to know about homosexual advances. Heterosexual people have labelled his actions as characteristic of what homosexuals do to pick up those of the same sex....AND, have deemed it ILLEGAL (!!!). Can we say reverse discrimination here? Homophobia? Entrapment? Whatever it is, it's surely outlandish. Can you see the hypocrisy in THIS? News anchors and many others have USED the hypocrisy of Craig's actions to JUSTIFY their own discriminatory, presumptuous, arrogant, all-knowing thoughts and actions about homosexuality. We have assumed the guy is gay, punished him legally FOR this ASSUMPTION, but have also used our OWN ASSUMPTIONS to justify heckling him for his sexuality, and to otherwise use defamatory remarks regarding homosexual people in general. WE are hypocrites in a much, much bigger way than Craig if you ask me. It's all sick, twisted, IMMORAL, UNETHICAL, and much, much more.

This link? One tiny example of what I'm talking about:

EDIT: Oopsie. I've changed that :-)

I really wasn't too interested in this thing, but as it's been inflated and gotten more and more out of hand; well, it has started to p$ss me off a little.

EDIT 2: Yeah, it's too bad.

EDIT 3: Psychic Cat: Thanx man! I laughed out loud reading your answer. Oh my gosh, you have such a wonderful way with words.

I am further appalled with this whole thing after now learning about this "psychologist's" claims on Larry King. Absurd. Definitely.

As was mentioned the Court of Public Opinion, Yep that would fit.

And so would the reduction of self esteem and the damage he has done to his family. Those will prove to be the real punishment. If you have noticed, his wife and children have not made any public statements or show signs of support.
Nor have any close personal friends. Those are the 'tell all' of the punishment he will suffer.

Truly a sad commentary on American public servants.

Listen, I'm not too fussed about an old politician whose odd fascination with homosexuals now makes more sense. What freakin' bothers me, is that he's made Men's rooms all across the country even LESS comfortable. It was already a situation where everybody was standing against a wall with their junk out, carefully avoiding eye contact. Now, we all have to stand against a wall with our junk out, carefully avoiding eye contact, and straining our ears for the sounds of toe-tapping. I wish this story would just go away.

It is scary in restrooms. Men need toi be careful. A drug parent can send a child in to set you up for drug money. I thought about leaning against the wall at the urinal and beating on the wall while screemin as in pain. Hopefully this will empty the bathroom and I can go in peace. Has anyone ever tried that?

If you mean the Court of Public Opinion, probably, but he opened himself up to it when he became a public figure -- not to mention, what he did was pretty public.

I'm not sure what you are referring to. Being lectured on Morality by those who supported Barney Frank?
