when i was 14, 2 years ago I was raped by a man of whom I know the identity. I feel ready to talk about it now but I'm worried I can't help stop him doing this to other girls because I'm too late

it is now everywhere. no more questions about it. and they seem to capitalize on cheap, dangerous and poor quality products, just because morons like most of us patronize them. I remember a mechanic who lost his left eye because of his fondness on cheapest tooling. and the other guy who unintentionally burned his car after installing a set of gauges in his dashboard, and my fisherman uncle who almost drifted in the middle of Pacific ocean when his brand new boat engine konked out, because the Engine name was Honda and was also few hundred cheaper

We have been to several court proceedings and the judge, since he personally knows the girlfriend, said is is inclined to lean toward giving her the estate, since my dad left us when we were small and made very little contact over the years. Can an estate be denied to rightful heirs based on our relationship?

Okay people, there is no need to be hateful to me. I appreciate your help. I just wanted to know why I had to go to court if I had already been deposed. I did tell the truth in my affidavit, there is no alimony being requested from the wife, she can't sue me for alienation of affection...Man, I thought this was a place to ask a question and just get a quick thought/answer, not for people to be rude. BTW...just because the name on here is william doesn't mean that I am not a woman. I appreciate the helpful parts of your answers but I don't appreciate the rude comments.

Is a defendant is required to appear in court regardless despite being obnoxious, nasty, talks too much (more than enough to put his/her foot in his/her own mouth), refuses to shut up, being disrespectful, or just being out-of-control. Lets say it is absolutely clear he/she is NOT mentally crazy, and is just trying to (for example in their own mind) annoy the judge enough to have his/her case dismissed?

I'm sure these type of incidents in courts of all levels high and low have occurred once in a while.

Do these type tactics by defendants even work or just makes the defendant look even worse in front of the judge's (and jury's) decision?

Can the court proceed from start to finish WITHOUT the defendant present, but his/her defense attorney is there to represent them given his/her courtroom behavior?

These people deserve the death penalty or at least a life sentence because they truly have nothing to contribute to society and are just a waste of space.

My friend borrowed $1500 about 9 months ago and did not pay it back. Do you think I have the right to do a background check on her to see what kind of issues she has that would cause her to not pay me back? She said she was losing her house.. I wanna make sure she isn't really some druggie or something. What do you think?

my husband really wants to see his child he has been debating this for 10 years he pays child support and does everything the child mom tells him to. but it came to a point that it is getting out of hand. when he went to court to demand visitation it became a battle and instead of the benefit of the child it became a harrasment against me and my family. we need this to stop. it has been a year my husband lawyer is tired y know her lawyer is tired and i am tired of this. my husband told me to for us to make a settlement for her not to harras us no more, to continue the same amount of child support for the 5 years remaining and if the child wants to meet her family to do after she grows up also for her to sign a court oder saying that she wont raise or demand nothing if she does she will have to settle for visitation. we do not have no other choice. but for her to stop. is affecting our live and our child because she is asking question. will the law respect the settlement?

I am a highly qualified, very attractive recent M.B.A. who is working for a major financial services firm. My job is very well paying, and if I continue with this firm, should be extremely rewarding.

My problem is I sit in an open bullpen cubicle format, and one of my senior co-workers screams at me at least hourly for the absolute most minor things. She probably weighs between 250 and 275 pounds, and I feel she is trying to force me to quit because I get attention from the men at work and she see me as a threat.

She is very valuable to the company, and I have made my supervisor aware that this is unacceptable behavior. Everyone within earshot knows what is going on, but no one will say anything because she is very valuable to the company.

What should I do, I am not going to quit, however, I am not willing to let this disgusting woman continue to abuse me. Thanks.

Aside from the obvious (changing passwords etc etc.)

I mean in legal terms, is there anything that you can do through the court system?

Wouldnt this be an invasion of privacy or harrassment or something?

Also, how can I prove in no uncertain terms that my Yahoo was accessed through their computer while I was 2500 miles away from them?
Would Yahoo be able to help? Surely they can tell by the IP.

FYI.. My account was accessed from a person that I personally know and not very fond of to say the least.

say your car gets broken into and they manage to pull a finger print... but cant identify it because the person has never commited a crime before. your **** out of luck until they get caught.
or say your mother gets killed. same situation.
would you be willing to give up some of your privacy for a safer place to let your children grow up?

As long as yahoo has serers in china, local law demands access to the data. This means that people who call out for more freedom on any of yahoo's sites can and will be put into jail.

Yahoo knows this and is aiding in china's reign of oppression and violation of basic human rights.

Should Yahoo move its data-servers out of reach of the china goverment?

And if Yahoo doesn't, should it be held responsible for any death resulting from the release of personal data?
Data can be encrypted or even destroyed, thus saving possible lives.

Your thoughts please

I have a 14 yo foster daughter. One night she had friends over - I went to bed around 11 but when I got up at 6am they were still here. I got angry and I threw them out.

They evidently hit my neighbor's car when they were leaving (neighbors called policee to take report - police questioned me & my kid and that was it. I don't know anything about the boys nor does my kid. So it's not like we can find them.

Am I responsible? The neighbors have approached me for the $500 deductible.

I am inclined to pay them the money and tell them to stay away from me & mine for the duration of their tenancy. (I own my home, they rent next door.) It pisses me off that they left a handwritten note on my front door to say they needed the names & any other info or they will have to go about it the "legal way" - my initial reaction was "So sue me, dummy!" But I'm trying to be grown-up and fair - besides I don't need the $ as much as they obviously do - or they would have come to me face-to-face!

With recent tragic events, there used to be a saying "crime does not pay" now it seems it is the only thing that does. What are your views on how to get us back to a relatively lawful society?
