My friend borrowed $1500 about 9 months ago and did not pay it back. Do you think I have the right to do a background check on her to see what kind of issues she has that would cause her to not pay me back? She said she was losing her house.. I wanna make sure she isn't really some druggie or something. What do you think?

I think the background check would have been more appropriate BEFORE you made the loan.

I don't see it as a moral issue with the information given.

I think you are wasting money. Her reasons for failing to honor the debt will not give you satisfaction or payment. Hopefully you have something in writing to prove you lent her the money.

Maybe you should know someones background before you loan them money.

I think it is too late for that now. Knowing her history will not help you get your money back.

Take her to small claims court or one of those t.v court shows like Judge Mathis or Judge Judy.
