On June 9th, I proposed to my fiancee at the royals game. prior to that I had to pay $500 dollars to make the event happen. I was told it covers 4 tickets to the game, a dvd of the event and promo items that was given away recently, along with a 1 night stay at a 4 star hotel and a signed item from a random baseball player.
Well at the day of the proposal I got there in the nick of time, and the royals lost and had to pay for parking. But we got 2 bobbleheads, 2 shirts, 2 magazines, a magnet, 2 draw string back packs, a easter bunny. I also was told I would get the dvd within 3 to 4 weeks after the day.
After waiting until yesterday which would make it 6 or 7 weeks I finally after emailing the person I worked with the dvd. The dvd I recieved was in a dvd slip case envelope and the dvd was not what I expected which was a dvd that lasted 5 seconds with the game announcers voice talking and that it didnt show everything that happen.
I feel basically I got ripped off from this.

I'm starting to see why the mafia came to existence , when the law is worthless and does nothing to protect innocent people.

Today we were harassed , verbally abused and involved in a highly heated exchange of words with our neighbors . we called the police . The police said they wont come until some one has been physically hit!

Its ironic how quickly police come for something so small as listening to your music up loud

I can really understand how some people take the law into their own hands.

He is legal, married to a white woman, and lives in the United States. They have 2 kids together. He wants a divorce and wants the kids. He is responsible, working .... all good things. His wife wants the kids as tools and support from him. I say white woman because what I am wondering is if there is any Panamanian Law about the custody of the children will go to the father to protect his culture and I guess blood line from him to his children.
Example: The Native Americans have a law that protects all Native American children. That the children in any way possible to stay part of their culture and tribe. So, A Native American man has 2 kids with a white woman, they want a divorce, the kids go to the man, because their culture is protected.
I don't know if I am making sense. Any help with the Panama child custody or culture protection laws would be great.

A very good friend was recently arrested for shoplifting. It's completely out of character for her. She's going to court soon and her lawyer asked me to write a letter of refrence for her.
I am stuck on what to write. So far all I have written is how long I have known her and that she is a close trusted friend.
The fact that this is completely out of character for her makes it even harder to write this letter.
She's a telented musician and an excellent student. (she's my room mate, we both go to UMass)
I just have absolutely no clue what to write.

Back in the early 70's tobacco advertisments were banned from television apparently because they were considered a health hazard. I agree with this sentiment even though I smoke myself, however it has come to my attention that very few people have been killed in traffic accidents due to tobacco. I feel it is unfair to the public in general that alcohol is still advertised when thousands of people are killed in alcohol related accidents. I would like at least 100 views on this subject from all my fellow Y/A users. Thank you and God bless.

Most normal people are content to raise their family and live a normal life. They do not need to be in control of everything around them. As long as the system will supply them with what they need to survive from a reasonable work effort. They do not get involved in the process of trying to control the government or anything else. It seems that those people that suffer from paranoia need to control everything around them to reduce their fear. These people seem to always gain control because of their persistence. Is it possible that most of those people that have managed to gain control are those same people that suffer from paranoia?

If this is true. We need to call on Mr.and Mrs. Normal to get off their *** and get involved. Come save us from the crazies.

I recently graduated college so I have started interviewing for jobs and I can not believe what is happening during the couple of interviews I have been on. One interview the guy asked me if I was married, how long I had been married, and where I met my husband. Now what does that have to do with the job?? Ok another interview I went on the guy told me everything went great and he would schedule me to start coming in for training then that night I get an email saying they are not interested. I was very confused did he lie to me because he did not have the guts to just tell me he was not interested. I have no problem with him not giving me the job but he could at least just be honest about it or if he did change his mind the the two hours since I last talked to him then call me do send me a generic attachment rejection letter. So my question is with especially the first situation and maybe even the second is there anything I should do about this like report it or something?

Can I file a lawsuit after watching a worker at my daughter's daycare not wash her hands after helping a young child use the toilet?
My daughter has only been there 3 days, and she's been vomitting all night last night. I've used this daycare before several months ago, and had to take time off from work, and eventually got fired after caring for my sick daughter. She always gets sick at this daycare, but it's the closest one around.
I just got a new job and cannot afford to take time off for anymore "sick days" or to even look for a new childcare. Is there any legal recourse I can take?
Please help!

I have 3 kids with my ex.
He is a deadbeat, and has never paid a penny in support.
Our oldest is disabled and I have struggled considerably.
He works off the books, and has no qualms letting people know this, as he goes to the store across the street with his boss every morning for coffee, lottery tix, and cigarettes.
Can I get a support order if he is working off the books?

Can I somehow hold his employer, ( another scumbag) somehow responsible for support?
And is having employees off the books illegal?

I have a support order that is old, and when the lowlife said he was " unemployed", the judge ordered $10 a month, which I have also never recieved.
I live in NY state.

Recently my employer ceased trading ( very unexpectedly & quickly) & this was at a time when I was on sick leave with a broken leg. I received no formal notice from my employer of termination of employment & I finished up going thru ACAS & an Industrial Tribunal. The employer did not bother to attend the tribunal & the Chairman made a number of awards in my favour amounting to approx £1500 covering payment in lieu of notice, unpaid holiday pay, unpaid wages. etc Again after the award was made by the Tribunal I received nothing from the employer & was advised to persue it thru the courts. I applied for the forms which arrived a few days ago but now even before I have applied to the courts an announcement has appeared in the local newspaper that they have become insolvent. Where does that leave me? I've lost loads of money & been without a job for months whilst seeking employment all through no fault of mine..... this all seems so unfair...... what can I do?

My dad recently passed away and he was 1/3 owner of a trust set up by his mother to protect two parcels of acreage from ever being sold. When we contacted the brother and sister (the other two names on the trust), they indicated that they were going to sell the property and they had my dad sign a power of attorney a few months ago when he first became ill.
I realize that the power of attorney they had is now invalid- BUT, how do I contact the proper courts (I know deed #'s lot #'s, courthouse locations, etc.) to stop any sale of this property until I can obtain copies of the trust to understand what my rights are. I would think the faster I contact them with the fact of his death, that would at least insure I am involved in any pending sale. Also- one of the propertys is being sold BELOW tax value to one of the 1/3 parties.. which sure sounds like a scam to me!! I just want to know WHAT to file and with WHO? Most docs do not address this that I've found. Thanks so much !!

I moved my wife and daughter over 200 miles away to a new home primarily to get away from my neighbor. That family verbally assaulted us and challenged our presence in this rural area repeatedly. We visited friends adjacent to this family last week which led to the police being summoned to our friends house for gestures we did not do. Can we get a restraining order to prevent this harassment and to avoid potential staulking and threats? There is much more to this story but I want to have some legal documentation in place in case something happens in response to an upcoming Farm Bureau suit against these people in which I am to testify.

I placed an order with a seller, a couple months ago, but due to several other issues, such as an election, eviction notice, legal issues in fighting the eviction, and problems with other bidders, I was told he was going to seek legal action against me, from Arizona, while i'm in South Dakota.
The main jist, is that while I placed the orders, they were never delivered, nor was any money sent, except for a 25 dollar deposit on the amount.
Now, here's where I am curious, Ebay has it's own policy in place, and if he's seeking extra damages, without product, then can I countersue for double jeporday? After all, I have been given a strike by Ebay, from the guy, and it would cost way more to drive or fly to Arizona, defend myself, and then pay to put myself up for a couple days...should I contact the Attorney General of both states?
Advice, legal quotes, or other information would be helpful. If I knew this guy was this big of a headcase, I'd never have looked in his store.

ok this is how it goes i am 14 years old and am black. I got caught shoplifting from a target today, the worst part is this is my 3rd time stealing from there and they have all 3 times on tape. I take about $300 worth of dvd's everytime and everytime i go into the bathroom and wrap the dvd's in aluminium foil so the alarm doesn't go off ( the alarm doesn't go off). Well just like usual i started walking towards the bathroom and the Targert secuirty arrested me right thier on the spot, they took me to a room and showed me the videos of me stealing and took all my information, the guys there told me i was going to jail but my dad talked with the cop and the cop let me go home but i have courtdate comming up soon, what is going to happen to me? They can prove that i have stolen 2 out of 3 times but the last time i haddent walked out the store but i did pash the cash registers, so should i plead guilty on the first 2 and not guilty on the 3rd charge?, overall though what will happen to me?
