On June 9th, I proposed to my fiancee at the royals game. prior to that I had to pay $500 dollars to make the event happen. I was told it covers 4 tickets to the game, a dvd of the event and promo items that was given away recently, along with a 1 night stay at a 4 star hotel and a signed item from a random baseball player.
Well at the day of the proposal I got there in the nick of time, and the royals lost and had to pay for parking. But we got 2 bobbleheads, 2 shirts, 2 magazines, a magnet, 2 draw string back packs, a easter bunny. I also was told I would get the dvd within 3 to 4 weeks after the day.
After waiting until yesterday which would make it 6 or 7 weeks I finally after emailing the person I worked with the dvd. The dvd I recieved was in a dvd slip case envelope and the dvd was not what I expected which was a dvd that lasted 5 seconds with the game announcers voice talking and that it didnt show everything that happen.
I feel basically I got ripped off from this.

My girlfriend feels that the price to do all this was way too much and that she felt the dvd was poor.

I also got a returned call from person I was in contact with and she stated that she doesnt know where I found the 32 value for tickets and that the hotel i basically pair for and that all the items I paid aswell and that they made a request from me to have a individual player sign a baseball. which in all I paid for, You would think it would be given as a congrats gift and that the dvd and tickets should be the only one I pay for....

That's enough to make any Royals fan root for any other team! I hope things are going much better in your romance.

Did you get the hotel room? Thats worth about 200 something in itself. Plus you got the tickets. Thats a good chunk of the 500. The rest is just random inexpensive stuff.

But the video? 5 seconds. Obviously the team pays some company to do this. Your proposal would have to be part of a larger section of video and this company just snipped your part out. So you should complain to whoever the contact is that arranged this for you. They or you could contact the company and have it redone.

Did the DVD come in a regular envelope or a bubble lined one. If it was just regular you could add to your complaint that obviously this company is running a sloppy operation. I pondered you just saying the DVD was damaged but you would just get the same thing back.

I'm betting this company is the one the team uses for all of its video work so they are not used to doing snippets of proposal footage. So they probably didn't put much effort into it. So start complaining (and keep at it) as this is important to you.

At the very least you will get some free tickets out of it.

Sounds like you got the tickets (they did not say parking would be free), the DVD and several more promo items than they indicated. What did your agreement with them say about the DVD? Did they violate that agreement?

Well, that's what you get for doing it at a royals game.
Don't you feel good that you helped them pay for the "team" they put on the field. Maybe your 500 bucks was used to pay mark teahen's salary or maybe octavio dotel's.

You could call them up and complain

YOU feel ripped off? How do you think she feels about it?

Okay. Guess what you really got for your money?

A rather harmlessly embarassing story to be told at the wedding, and something funny to tell your kids when they approach marriage age.

Let it go. Really.
