i got caught shoplifting from target, (14 years old) whats gonna happen on my courtdate?

ok this is how it goes i am 14 years old and am black. I got caught shoplifting from a target today, the worst part is this is my 3rd time stealing from there and they have all 3 times on tape. I take about $300 worth of dvd's everytime and everytime i go into the bathroom and wrap the dvd's in aluminium foil so the alarm doesn't go off ( the alarm doesn't go off). Well just like usual i started walking towards the bathroom and the Targert secuirty arrested me right thier on the spot, they took me to a room and showed me the videos of me stealing and took all my information, the guys there told me i was going to jail but my dad talked with the cop and the cop let me go home but i have courtdate comming up soon, what is going to happen to me? They can prove that i have stolen 2 out of 3 times but the last time i haddent walked out the store but i did pash the cash registers, so should i plead guilty on the first 2 and not guilty on the 3rd charge?, overall though what will happen to me?

Count yourself lucky you don't live in Iran. I believe the punishment for stealing is to cut off a hand.

Nothing that bad will happen to you here. First, playing the race card here is a mistake, save that for when you commit your first adult felony. Second, They can prove that you were stealing all three times. The fact that you had not left the store is irreverent, you were doing the same thing as what you did the other two times you shoplifted.
Your first court date is where you will be told exactly what you are charged with. It could be more serious than just shoplifting. You say your thefts average $300 for each of the three times you hit Target. Depending on your State's law, you could be looking at Felony Grand Theft.
The absolute worst that could happen to you is a Reform School sentence for a number of years. However, if this is a first offense and you grovel appropriately before the court, you might get lucky and get sent to a diversion program or community service sentence. Your age is about the only thing you got going for you, and that ain't much. Try to snow the court and they will land on you like all the bricks in the Target Store.
Oh, They will tell you to never enter a Target store again.

Okay, first off when you go to court. Don't lie. Also, being black has nothing to do with this. Since as you never walked out of the store on the 3rd charge you technically didn't break the law. Now plead guilty for the first and second and not guilty to the third. You will either go to jail or serve community service. If it's in middle school then it probably won't go on your record but if your in high school it will. It all depends on your history. If the judge sees you have no previous records, good grades, good kid, no drugs ect. then you might get a warning or little community service. But if you are the exact opposite then lots of community service and or jail time. You will probably be charged with petite larceny which is a misdemeanor I believe. So good luck and please don't steal man I know what its like to want money and free stuff (I'm 14 also) but you gotta look past all that and realize the punishment. You can be charged all 3 times for the theft. In fact, in some states you can be charged with Burglary. The third time you came into the store you showed them that you were going through the same behavior pattern, and they can use this to prove that you had gone to the store with the intent to steal. If you had gone to the store with the intent to steal (you have no money or means to pay for anything), then you can be charged with burglary. Burglary is different from theft in that it is a felony (at least 1 year in prison). You should get a lawyer.

If this is your first offense, you may get off light with a plea of guilty. Do not admit that you went to the store with the intent to steal.

Well my friend, being black doesnt matter. Now every store like "Target" or "Wal-mart" have a theift stealing limit like if your caught stealing somthing that is worth 10 dollars or less then your off with a warning but if it's more than that you will be going to court and be prosicuted at fullest extent of the law. You did a crime and was caught red handed, now you pay the price. I would plead guilty on all of them, that will show the gudge that your honest, but you wont get off that easyli. I suggest going to court well dressed like a Neck tie and nice pants, well groomed and since your still young you might go off with a warning but if target wants to press charges then i would say doing time in juvinile hall. You made a bad shoice son! If this goes in your record then it will be one of the stupidest things because jobs now a days ask for criminal backgrounds and drug tests. I hope you aint doing drugs either!! but hey, if i was you, il go to Target looking all nice n write them an apology letter to them and let them know how sorry you are, maybe they will cut you some slack and drop the case but if you want to be a bad boy about it, then go to court, serve your consiquence!!!

Just plead guilty for 2/3 charge,who knows,you might get a lighter sentence.Maybe you can just get a probation for being a juvenile.In Singapore,people under 18 will either be sent to boy's home or get probation.What's ur country?By the way pobation in my country Singapore is that within 10pm-6am muz be at home.

Why would you go to the same store that you got caught at twice before? That makes no sense to me. You're gonna get caught if you're that stupid. You'll either get really really bad fines or some time in Juv. It depends on how the judge feels really.

You have to ask yourself why are you stealing?
Do you get allowances from your parents ?
is it just a compulsion?
I think the best way for you to stop stealing is to find a fun part time job where you can earn your own money and buy what you need.....
