I got alot of, "The police shoyld be called on you" "police take so long to respond to calls, because they are always busy with YOU PEOPLE" Texas is as racist as you can get. I live on a 99% white nieghborhood, I drive a 2006 Lexus. When I go to my local Krogers (about 2 blocks from my home) I get very ugly looks from the elderly white shoppers. The cheif of police lives directly across from me. Every other day a police officer is at my door saying, "the boss sent me" (pointing across the street at my neighbor). He calls the police and tells them to ask me to remove my mail from my mailbox because its sticking out! Thats how serious it it! I want to know your honest opinion, do you think racism and racial profiling still exists? And to what extent I would like to show this to my professor. All reacist and ignorant comments welcome. It just further helps me prove my point. Thanx!

ok this might sound confusing but it really isnt..About 2 1/2 years ago my cosuin was involved in shop lifting with her friend in Macy's she was only 17 and now she's almost 20.The security in Macy's made her sign a fine but didnt get her S.S# they only got her home #.Her and her friend got out, but b4 they could they had to talk to an attorney that was given to them. The attorney said she have never signed Macy's Fine agreement., but its okay b/c they dont have her S.S# and she was released and none of it went on her record. For her job she cant work if she has a record so they do a background check and they said she was fine, that she had no record.Although her friend payed the Macys fine for 500 the amount which she stoled while my cousin was only to be fined for $28 but we got a call saying Macy's wants 600 from her.We spoke to her parents lawyer and he said it was Macy's who does a fine for shoplifters but to ignore it cause it wont show on her record or hurt her in any way.

I know this sounds stupid but I have never been arrested nor have I been to court.

I applied recently for this good paying jon and I was told as long as the background check came back ok, I would be hired. The boss celled me the next day and told me I could start next week on Wednesday. Monday I got a phone call and asked to come in. When I came in, I sat with my new boss and he told me that he had to decline on hiring me due to a felony conviction on my record. I asked for the information he had and his source and he refused to give it to me unless I requested it to the company in writing, by mail, to the human resources department.

I have lived in the same town all my life. I contacted the State Police and paid and got a state background check on me. I also went to the county and got my county background check. As I thought, it is clean. So what gives?

i have custody of my daughter during the school months wherever I live. Her mother has her for the summers, but is required to return her to me 2 weeks before school starts. She lives in colorado, and I in TN, where our custody hearing and papers were done, mother told me she had no plans on returning her, so I went and got her from Colorado. She, of course is throwing a fit and has called the police, lied and said she has custody, and I abducted my daughter, when I have my papers in front of me. Can i get in trouble? Did I do anything wrong?

Is it illegal to make out with someone in a car if your in a parking lot, or in some abandoned stretch of road?
If not, what about if things move on from just making out, and your clothes are off? What about having sex? Are any of these things illegal if they are not disturbing the people.
If it is illegal, what is the law that this would be breaking?
If it is illegal under some grounds, how can you circumvent it, and make sure that you are in the right?

I have been let down by Comet 3 times having ordered a cooker. Two delivery dates have gone by, I have paid but not received. They admitted their mistake and said that the delivery date had been put down as 29th August, not July. I have had to cancel appointments. I am diabetic and am desparate for something to cook on. Am I right to ask for compensation?

I have been fighting my case from over three years now and have been to the full commission but nothing is being done about the misconduct of this very large hospital group here in NC which is growing like cancer.
I have filed against two attorneys with the Bar Assoc, one for withholding documents and lying in court---I have documents & taped recordings of phone calls to prove my side--still nothing is being done. The hospital misplaced some very important documents which could have been enough to have me fired if I hadn't made copies for myself back when I was first hired.
With all the problems of misconduct in the upper NC offices such as Mike Nifong, Speaker of the House Black, how can anyone know that there is justice alive and well anywhere in this state?

My mother-in-law says that she called medicare and got approval for the surgery.

My question is how do I make sure the Surgeon makes an effort to collect from Medicare. (it's my $6000)

My question is California-specific, as I am sure the laws can vary by state.
Also, if anyone has any specific information on assets pertaining to intellectual property (trademarks and copyrights), that would be very helpful.

on human behaviour?
isnt the reducing of everything to money [sport, art, film etc] impoverishing us all...
..and opening the door to questionable selfish behaviour, because whenever a situation arises of choosing what is right against what is profitable, the virus capitalism has injected into our moral system is going to exert its stranglehold on our behaviour.
or at the very least is going to tempt even those with a strong and steadfast ethical make-up, to choose to do the dubious...before the choose to do right.

is that not a definition of corruption?

My sister was my Mom's power of attorney who passed last June. It appears that she took all her money plus she is My Brother's power of attorney as he is diabled and in a facility. Well she spent all of that money too. They are threatening to put him out and she is up charges for that but we can not find out how much money my Mom had. She and her daughter are also living in my Mom's house til it goes out of probate which I did not like. Now I hear rumors that she did not pay the common fees so is risking that as well. What can my sisters and I do? She is divorced and their house is closing in Sept and she gets half after all the bills are payed. We are at a loss as the attorney kept telling us that my sister had everything under control. This lawyer did not do her job as far as I am concerned and should be sued as well. There is four girls and a Brother not just her as heirs and she has lost all of my Mom's worldly goods. What recourse do we have?
