Most defiantly, I would also see if you can get a cooker quicker than 29th August, and if you can demand your money back from Comet and go to the other company and order through them.
If Comet will not give you compensation, threaten to go to the local press, if they still refuse tell your local newspaper about your experiences, they may well pursue the matter for you.

You should ask an attorney, but I really do not think you are entitled to any compensation from him. If you were injured on vacation you may be able to get compensation from where you were hurt, but that would have nothing to do with the man you were on vacation with. If he caused the injury if you didn't report it or file a police report you are probably out of luck. After all he didn't force you to go on vacation with hi,. You will waste more time energy and money than it's worth if you try to sue him. Just chalk it up to experience and move on. Now you know better than to trust someone you met online.

Yes Definately go for compensation. They had agreed to deliver your cooker on two previous dates and failed to act on them.
Claim for any days off work you have had to take off, also I would keep receipts for any take away food you may have purchased due to not having cooker.
I would also consider writing a letter to Comet's Head office demanding that if the Cooker is not delivered within 14 days along with a satisfactory re-imbursment, you will send a copy of this letter to your local trading standards office.
Don't take no messing off them.
Good Luck!!!!

Im from the UK, so i guess the laws will be different. The trouble with a case against Comet will be that they will ask what you require compensation for. They are not obliged to compensate for your lack of cooking facilities. I do sympathise with you however - maybe you could ask them for a discount on the premise that you have been let down.

hmmm, if that was me, id give up home of so called "compensation" theres no way they would give it to you free, or reduce the price of it, BUT
write a letter, explain the dates, etc how much you had spent at the store and how it has "lowered your opinion" of comet, but write, dont email, im almost certain you will get a letter back saying ....
"we apologise" "we have attached some gift vouchers" "gesture of good will"
thoose words in the letter lol, hope for around £50 of free vouchers, and let it be the end of it

write and give them seven days to deliver what you asked and paid for, failing which you will cancel the order, and expect an immediate refund PLUS interest on the money they have held.
Also tell them that a copy of the letter has gone to the local trading standards office, and BBC Watchdog.
That should get an immediate response. Good luck.

waiting a month for a cooker is unacceptable when it was their mistake and not yours. I would contact their head office and maybe also contact trading standards to see if they can do anything. Threaten to go elsewhere and demand a refund if they cannot deliver within 48 hours.

Yes, go to the consumers board and they will give you the advice to proceed with a compensations claim. Good luck and I am sorry for your distress.

Yes, they have been making interest from your money and did not fulfil their commitment to you. Write it all down and post it to their head office. Email and phone calls are no substitute for a detailed letter of dates and errors.
