my question is if you knew someone who did something wrong such as a hit and run or driving drunk would you report them or try to help them. i have strong morals and have called my sister in for drunk driving and would do it to family b/c wrong is wrong but my husband and his family always covers for one another even taking the driving classes for alcohol for each other and when i told the insurance on accident about their insurance fraud and claiming to not have his brother driving a car to get a lower rate i got chewed out by their whole family. what is your take do you think no matter who it is it's wrong or would you make excuses or cover it up? am i wrong for accidently saying his brother drove the car?

you are not wrong and if you falsify a report you are libel to all sorts of legal problems.

sound like you are surrounded by those who feel that the laws do not apply to them or find ways to evade personal responsibility for their actions.

you have a difficult situation.

You have to consider the consequences and the gravity of the matter. When it comes to someone, anyone driving after drinking (obviously in no condition to to drive) you are doing that person a favor by doing all you can to stop them from doing it. And, of course you may be saving a life...or even lives.

That is a question you must ask yourself, I know that I would not want a wife that would turn me in. If someone was injured or killed that is different. If it was victim less, it your call to make.
