I got alot of, "The police shoyld be called on you" "police take so long to respond to calls, because they are always busy with YOU PEOPLE" Texas is as racist as you can get. I live on a 99% white nieghborhood, I drive a 2006 Lexus. When I go to my local Krogers (about 2 blocks from my home) I get very ugly looks from the elderly white shoppers. The cheif of police lives directly across from me. Every other day a police officer is at my door saying, "the boss sent me" (pointing across the street at my neighbor). He calls the police and tells them to ask me to remove my mail from my mailbox because its sticking out! Thats how serious it it! I want to know your honest opinion, do you think racism and racial profiling still exists? And to what extent I would like to show this to my professor. All reacist and ignorant comments welcome. It just further helps me prove my point. Thanx!

well if this is true about your mail sticking out and they call the police then I believe I would be moving and calling some place else home . I know it is not easy to move but if you are that uncomfortable with the state of texas then move out of it . I believe that some racist stuff probably still does exsist these days but not as bad as it used to be . I think maybe you and the police cheif should sit down and have a talk and let him know that in no uncertain terms will you tolerate harassment and that is what you are going through is called harassment . I wish you luck and i hope you get through this .

I'm not racist by any means but I do have concerns when i hear statements like yours coming from the black communities, this concerns me. Why is it that when something bad happens between a black person and a white person the black person automatically cries racism? Shall we mention O.J Simpson, couldn't find anymore evidence to prove he was innocent, so he cried rasism. The police are always targeting blacks...so they must be racist?? What about when white people get in trouble... (just like everyone else) What do you call that? There's prejudice everywhere that's why there's laws to protect people. You mentioned you drive a Lexus... I see young guys driving fancy cars too and they are paying through the nose in car insurance. This is sexist .... a young guy...in a nice car pays double for car insurance than you or I would.
And as far as your neighbors go...neighbors are annoying a%%holes, that's commen sense.... so it was probably as innocent as that. Or who knows maybe your neigbors and the old people are jealous of your success.Who cares what color you are, live your life how you want and don't let other people judge you and what you have. And don't use the color of your skin as a scapgoat. I face prejudices in life too. I'm a 24 year old, attractive successful young woman, who just bought a house and is getting married. People are haters and jealous and they're all around me. So just take it all in stride...or plain and simply F$%# 'em.

Yes Racial profiling and racism still exist. And in Texas you are going to find a lot of that.

Idk why. I know in some parts of the country that African Americans do cause a lot of problems. But i know for a fact that it's not all A.A.s but people are so ignorant that they just put all blacks into the same category. and i think it's wrong.

My best friend is a black girl. lol and she is THE BEST person you will ever meet in you life. and she gets discriminated against daily ... and it pisses me off to be quite honest.

It's just something that will always be. I'm not saying you should get used to it b/c you shouldn't but you have to recognize that it will be around forever.

There are civilized people and hateful people everywhere.

When we are in places where annonymity is impractical, the hateful people tend to suppress their bad attitudes knowing they will be easily caught, but when they think they have some security against being caught, they let it out.

This explains a lot of road rage, rapes, stalking, and Internet hostility. The perpetrators are trusting that the resources to catch them are unlikely to get weilded against them.

At some future point, Yahoo may fix their abuse detection customer support so as to put a stop to this activity. Right now Yahoo customer support is in Asian nations whose racism, sexism etc. is equivalent to USA before Civil Rights Movement, so those people do not comprehend our complaints.

However, when Yahoo is able to fix this, to eliminate racist postings here, that does not cure those people who have those racist beliefs.

Where you are one black in a 99% white community, and a handful of whites are picking on you, if the majority of the whites are good people in ignorance of this abuse, then you can never get their help, never guage what proportion hate the racists.

Texas has nothing to do with the United States of American, only that we share the same language (in most cases) and the same currency.

Such a shame, it used to be a wonderful state before the fundaMENTALists took over their state government.
