My 10 year old step daughter has been placed in care with her neighbour due to suffering physical and mental abuse by my ex. Trouble is, she is now sharing a room with an 11 year old boy. also, the 'carer' is a disabled woman who's 15 year old son is HER registered carer as she is incapable of looking after herself.
Now to me, that means that Social Services have basically placed my step daughter in the care of a 15 year old boy.
Am I reading too much into this or am I totally beside myself about this for a reason?
May I add that I refer to her as my step daughter for clarity, but I consider her to be my daughter and always will.
My 4 year old, even though she has also suffered mental and physical abuse, has been left with her mother for further abuse due to the fact she's too young to stand up for herself so isn't considered as much at risk even though there is evidence to prove it is still ongoing.

I live in a two home address. Our Landord lives in the front and we live in the back. There is one mailbox for both homes. We have a Lock/Key Mailbox where we get our Mail. There was an argument between us this morning because of hearsay from the neighbors. In The Afternoon when I go to retrieve our Mail, I discover the lock on the Mailbox has been changed and we no longer have access to our mail! Isn't this A Federal Crime? What can I do? They are not home at this time.

Texas has a no gambling law. Okay their prerogative. So how come they still allow Bingo and the State Lottery. These are considered as gambling activities in the UK.

Don't you think that this is hypocritical especially as the Catholics are so against gambling and yet enjoy a game of bingo?

My civil complaint was ordered to mediation,
we did not come to an agreement, but just
before the hearing was over,my attorney
informs me that he will not have the money
needed to depose the witnesses. He never
indicated that he was having financial issues,
as he had been describing to me how he
would litigate the case. However just before
the mediation he also backed out of suing
my Labor Union as he indicated he would.
We signed a contingency fee contract, and at
this point I feel he is compromising my case.
Should I report this to the Bar Association?

Shouldn't that be up to the owners? If you own a club, why should you be forced to make it non-smoking? If you don't like the smoke then just go somewhere else, it's not like there's a shortage of clubs around, no one's forcing you to go in. And as for the people who work there, didn't you realise you'd be working in a smoking environment when you took the job??

Smoking is what people do in a pub or club (as well as drinking of course), in fact I know people who don't smoke much unless they're out drinking. So if you know there's cigarette smoke and you're a non smoker, then why the hell would you want to work there?? And why is going to be a law for it?

If they want to make laws to protect people in their workplace, how about banning nuts in the workplace so that people with nut allergies can work in the KP Peanut factory.

I'm in a joint contract for a student house with 2 other guys, and before we moved in we had to get our parents to sign guarantor forms and also arrange with our bank for money to go into their account. the problem is, only two of us did this. the third housemate never did either of them, and then 6 months in, left without paying most of his rent. The landlords never chased us up for the rest of the money, but he's mentioned a few times that the two of us will have to make it up by the end. Can that be legal, considering they never forced the guy to sign a guarantor form and didnt even chase him up for money until 3 months into the tenancy???

Ok so we have banned smoking from July st, so why don't we ban drinking.
I smoke but don't drink, I do not like seeing drunken people falling all over the place when I am out and about. I am fed up with seeing beer cans and bottles in the street and on the roads. The hospitals are fed up with treating booze related illnesses. Why have they not banned drinking on planes? why should I sit near some one who has has a few to many and are creating mayhem. I am just a pi**ed off smoker.

I'm taking an online class and one of our discussion questions was about whether or not we agreed the the police in Florida handcuffing a 5 year old that was acting up in class. I was just wondering what everyone else's opinion on it was. Some opinions that have been expressed have been very..unusual. Here's the link for the video

"We have an obligation to solve problems that have been piling up for decades," Bush said in his weekly radio address. "The status quo is unacceptable."

The measure would tighten borders and workplace enforcement, create a new guest worker program and provide pathways to legal status for most of the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in the country.

How can you justify a war on terroism if you are willingly letting illegal imigrants into our country? What do we know about these people? How can we track them if something is done? The answer to the problem is not making them legal residents but to enforce the law. If you can spend trillions of dollars in War you can afford stricter security on the bordes and throughout the United States. Let's not compromise what we are fighting for just because Top Dollar business men are making bigger profits off of $5 an hour illegal immigrants with no benefits.
