Don't be silly. The whole idea of carbon footprinting is a nonsense. The people who are spreading this business are travelling the planet to make their point and in the process creating a huge amount of carbon. The only solution is to reduce the world's population. Without this all the green measures taken by well-meaning Westerners (the far east couldn't give a monkey's) is a complete waste of time.

Let ' em start by picking up their trash.
Nexct time you are on a parking lot ( yes, a parking lot) looki around and see how much trash is just laying there.

Before we worry about a "carbon footprint allowance """, how about just worrying about basic housekeeping and sanitation.

It should be universal - no trading of or swapping values, it must have no market value or it would be pointless. Every person has one, based on age and ability of choice. City dwellers need less for cars, where rural might need more, overall, it could be a balanced value for everyone.
Government members should have less than half the population so it shows a good example to the masses.

If you think it will make the planet a better place, go ahead. The reality is that certain people who are in the business of pushing global warming will make a lot of money from buying and selling these credits and do not lessen their own use of fuels. It will only green their wallets in my humble opinion.

I think that's a great idea! This would certainly go a long way toward bringing third-world countries into better lifestyles while curbing the flagrant abuse of the earth and its resources in the western world.

The only fair way to do it is to allocate the same amount of resources for each person, and allow people to donate parts of theirs to help the elderly, sick, and disabled.

That way, we could get rid of all the Hummers in one fell swoop!
