When an adult admits to raping a fifteen year old girl in an oral statement given to police, why can it be tossed out the window by the State's Atty when his lawyer comes? It then takes two months to a year and a half for the evidence obtained in a rape kit to come back before the man can be charged. Where exactly are the rights of the victim upheld there?

I called down to the Social Services Office and asked them if they had any kids to adopt. They asked me some questions and got all bent out of shape when I asked if they had kids big enough to push a lawn mower and clean the house. I told them that I wanted these kids to keep the house and such because my house staff had to be let go. Why would they get so upset about that?

Do I have to wait for something to happen or can I get a restraining order on her behavior she's shown int he past. I'm 19 and she threatens to do things through e-mail and phone, although she's never fulfilled them, I'm a bit paranoid now. Please help!

a family member of mine has had some one call Child protective services on them and (cps) is trying to have her voluntarilly place the child with someone else... The problem is there are so many rights i can see that (cps) has already violated of hers that i need to know more of what she can do to protect herself, and what they are really capable of doing with out a court order. They have made a ton of threats and have yet to make a legal court order.... She is being pushed into all kinds of desicions by them, and her case worker is verbally telling her that she has no choice and is admitting to her that these are threats....

If a prosecutor binds a case over to a grand jury does that mean the prosecutor thinks he has an excellant case against the defendant, or is the prosecutor just following procedure? Could handing the case over to a grand jury mean the prosecutor wants to see if the case has merit before proceeding?

We live in Ohio. My husband's ex-wife has made it impossible for him to spend time with his daughter even though there is a visitation order. He does not get to talk to her on the phone or see her. We have been to court, but without paying 10s of thousands of dollars to fight in court, there is no hope for change. He has considered relinquishing all parental rights, but if he does, does not want to be obligated to pay child support. As it stands, we are simply a piggy bank for mom. The ONLY time we hear from them is when a medical bill needs paid or there is a child support question! I understand that he has an obligation to pay child support, but he also has the RIGHT to see his child without having to fight in court! We are the ones that have to fork out the money each time! Can someone PLEASE help?? Thanks.

On the 1st of December my sister's boyfriend is going in for a bond reduction hearing (Colorado), is there any way I can appeal to the court not to reduce his bond due to his drug use, abuse and flight risk? Has anyone else been to or had a reduction hearing? How much did they reduce your bond? This guy is facing 6 or more felonies, one includes resisting arrest, fraudulent checks and producing counterfeit checks. Please help, I want him to stay in jail and then he won't kill my sister!
