I asked the exact same question yesterday. Obviously our government cares more for criminals than the elderly, and so does half the population. Unfortunately this is a problem that will not go away anytime soon. Sorry for your grandmother.
Do not buy into the "conservatives". They were in control for 6 years and the best they, or anyone else, can come up with is a wall that doesn't even cover half the border. Obviously neither party will help you, so vote accordingly.

It is a travesty, I agree. It is on the governments very own help page that if you are a migrant worker or immigrant, you can get help. You must fall in to a certain number of qualifications if you are an American, which very few ever do. It's a disgrace. You cannot be sick and poor in America, if you are an American. You didn't say why your grandmother doesn't receive Medicaid. Does she have assets that could be sold? Is she getting a pension plus social security?

I agree with you 100%. We pay our tax dollars to support anyone who wants to sneak into this country and get a free ride. They get the free medical care; free housing; free social security benefits, and, if they make money and don't pay taxes on it, they get away with it. I believe in charity, but this is ridiculous. I think we should throw all the illegal immigrants out and use our tax dollars for our own citizens.

Honey, check out my questions on is this fair. Call your goveranor, state reps, and senators. Thats what I am doing about the medical assistance I was declined, its going good so far. Its not just illegals though, its unmarried mothers, alcoholics, drug addicts, and of course refugees. LOL

Why do you think everyone is mad. There are so many programs for "illegals". When they are sick doctors have to treat them, and they usually have "free", or very inexpensive clinics for them.
The bill gets put on us "legals", because they are here basically for us to take care of, even if we are hardly getting by oursleves.
I guess we are privileged because we were born here, "lol", so they have to come and take everything away.
