A few years back my parents deeded their house to me. Shortly after, I created a “Deed of Conveyance” stating that I the Grantor give my mother the grantee “Life Estate” with the remainder to the Grantor/Me. Now, here’s the issue. My Mother is terminally ill and may die very soon. I have no clue of the process that needs to be taken upon my mother’s death in order to seize the house. I have disgruntled family members who will do anything possible to see that I don’t get the house. I would assume that there’s nothing they can do because it is clearly stated in the deed of conveyance that the remainder/house fall back to me. So, can anyone help me with the steps that need to be taken upon my mother’s death? Also, my mother is no longer living in the house and I fear that the house is being neglected and I was wondering if I have any rights to enter the premises to ensure upkeep.

the problem is the police can't do anything cause of the laws bush passed with stalking and being abused but I was luckly than most. The other thing is sometimes cops if you have a medical contion they won't do anything to help you even if you are a victim. Why do you think that is?

The only "good" I have seen is them getting on the bus and leaving the shopping centers, where they beat innocent civilians with their purses and bags. Something needs to be done about this. I do not take a day off from work and drive all the way to the mall just for some old crotchety grandma to yell at me because I dress too trashy.

I left a job where I was a contract employee. I started my own company and took my own clients with me. Now my old boss is calling my clients and professional associates and slandering me. He has told them I was fired and that I am being investigated by the authorities. I have a letter from the home office accepting my resignation and I have no investigation taking place. This has the potential to severly hurt my reputation in the industry and with my clients. DO I have a lawsuit and if so what kind of attorney takes this kind of case?
Okay to add details. I work in the securities industry and the investigation is within the NASD supposedly. I contacted them and they have to notify me of an investigation and there is none. Secondly, the clients were mine and that is stated in my contract and there is no non compete.
Also my goal is to get it to stop, but I'd be lying if I said I would walk away from monetary compensation as well

I work in an office I have found out that one of my co-workers have been following me for about the last month at lunch time to see what I do & where I go then report back to other co-workers and then start making snide remarks in the office. They are trying to see if Iam having an affair with another co-worker so far they have only seen me have lunch a few times with that person but are starting to spread rumors and making it an unpleasant work enviroment. It seems they have a personal vendetta against me for some reason

Okay so I was asking what people thought about the Dixie Chicks movie and someone said that he thought that the Dixie Chicks had committed "treason". Let me saw most of his answer was well thought out and intellectual but that bugged me. Treason? Okay so by that definition any utterence against the governing body should be called treason. Because when I read this I though about how Stalin and Hitler inprisoned people for treason because they spoke out against them. This was one of the reasons why we in the West spoke out against them, because we thought this was a violation of rights. So then do people have to agree with everything the president does or just not say anything about it? I can appreciate that people were offended by what the Dixie Chicks said but to call it treason seems harsh to me. I am saying this because this word seems to get thrown around lately. What are people thinking about this issue?

Here's the thing: I've been working on a project that involves taking pictures of a plastic toy that represents a well-known monster-type creature in pop culture. You can totally tell that I'm using a plastic toy, and as far as I've been able to find, there is no mark saying who manufactured the toy. As long as I use only the image (the photo of this toy) and not the name, can I make images with it and sell them? Or will it be an intellectual property issue and might I be liable? How do I research this? Please cite your source if possible, and thanks in advance for any help.

I was treated unfairly at work (the maintenance man disciplined me and talked to me very rudely, and I am supposed to be second in command) and I complained to our corporate office. My boss did not support me, but instead protected the maintenance man. If my boss finds out I called corporate, can she fire me? Am I protected under the "whistleblower laws"?

I work in a shop. There's this old guy who comes in regularly, so naturally we always get chatting.
He tells me he speaks to women on the phone and they send him pictures of themsleves. He's shown me and it's obvious that they are from chat-lines and stuff but he seems oblivious to it - he seems convinced that they are interested in him.

But this is the weird bit: I asked him today whether there were any women he liked, and he told me he had been speaking to this girl for the last few weeks. He said they were getting quite friendly.
So naturally I asked him old old she was.
His Reply: "Oh, eight, maybe nine,"

!!!!!

He seems really naive with the chatline thing, so could it be the same with this girl?
He certainly doesn't seem the type to be preying on small girls, and surely if he was, he wouldn't tell me so easily in casual conversation, but now I feel uneasy about what he said.

What do you think?

In a normal business contract, party A will do 1,2,3 and party B will do 4,5,6. Each agrees to do their part otherwise the contract is voidable or accionable. (I presume). In an enlistment contract or agreement, Party A (person enlisting) agrees to join, and Party B (the Military) agrees to something.

If party B(the government) offers nothing in the contract in exchange, is this a valid contract?

Additionally, If party B (the government) misrepresents the content or the intent of the contract is it still valid?

I recently saw a question asked, and it has pushed me to critque a few of our current laws. After researching, sexual innuendos are considered sexual harrassment, among other small things.

Heres a list of several "Sexual Harrassment" actions you can perform, that I think dont qualify as Sexual Harrassment;

Sexual jokes in the classroom or workplace,

(Some) Physical gestures such as stroking your hair or arm, massaging your shoulders, kissing you or rubbing, touching or brushing against your body,

Verbal harassment such as the use of names like "broad," "*****," "bimbo" when referring to a specific woman or to women in general.

Some of those I would not place under Sexual harrassment. Only because the extent to which punishment comes from being accused of sexual harrassment can be quite severe for minor misconceptions. Because the definiton of Sexual Harrassment means; Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual ...

She relapsed while dating this guy from recovery who relapsed first. They broke up and he has been harrassing her for the last 10 months. She took the proper steps through the courts about this and he has been arrested. She went to his commital hearing and the judge decided to send the case to a jury trial. My friend is worried that this guys lawyer will bring up the fact that she drank a year ago while on probation. My question is, can she get in trouble now for admitting to taking a drink a year ago, even though she's been sober ever since then? She's really worried that if the lawyer asks if she was drinking while they dated, and she tells the truth it will get her in more trouble? Does anyone know the answer to this??!!

Does it take too much energy to realize that WE control the govt?

Say, your the Boss of a company: If you sit on your butt at work and allow your employees to make ALL the decisions, then call your friend on the phone and complain about the way the place is being run, does that make you any less responsible when the outcome turns bad?

Democracy takes ALOT of work from the public. Lets start doing our part. Crying will NOT get the job done. As long as you sit in here or on a barstool and cry, your govt will continue to do whatever it wants, because it knows you are ineffective! They didnt let you down, you let yourself down. TAKE CHARGE!!
