She got arrested when she was'nt hurting anyone; it was shameful. FYI, I think the whole thing was staged. It was't a random thing. She was a member of the Higlander Research and Education Center, a think tank for civil rights activists.
This is NOT to say that the law was not unjust, but to elucidate people on how laws are tested. For example, the Scopes trial in Dayton, Tennessee was staged as well. The principles in the trial were friends, not adversaries.

Dont you even know who Rosa Parks was? She is famous because she was a black woman who during the time of major racial prejudice and segregation refused to give up her seat to a white man on a bus, in which she got arrested. Its pretty obvious why that is important to the civil rights movement

I'm pretty sure it wasn't her specifically, it was the timing. Rosa Parks could have been anyone that was tired of moving for a dumb reason. But I guess it put the spotlight on someone who wasn't willing to accept the social norms. Too bad that such a great movement turned into an entitlement-philosophy of a people that now thinks they are owed so much that they haven't earned.

well! if people didn't listen to Martin Luther Jr.'s "I have a Dream..." speech, then we might be separated today, blacks with blacks and whites with whites. Rosa Parks was important because she was black and she sat in the black section of the bus (so she followed the bus's rules) but a white guy needed a seat so the bus driver told Rosa Parks to move but Rosa didn't because she was sitting in the black section of the bus, like she was supposed to, so then her act led to the Montgomery Bus Boycott and now any race can sit in any section of the bus because f her. And Malcom X, i kind of forgot about him even though we just learned about him like a month ago.... ummm.......... yeah. But i hoped that i helped! :)

Because people stood up against it and boycotted the bus.

She decided she didn't want to give up her seat to a person just because they were white. It gave people the courage to stand up for what they believed in
