There's no difference in except that one is "driving under the influence" and the other "driving while intoxicated". They both mean the same thing. Each state is different in what they call it, DWI or DUI.

Just the w and u. No difference really. Different states call it different things. When I was in Missouri they called DWI. In Florida they call it DUI.

dwi is driving while intoxicated --> drunk
dui is driving under influence --> either drunk or under the influence of drugs...
both are pretty much the same thing though
