Does anyone know the title of a book and the author that claims there is no law that provides for a federal U.S. income tax? I first heard about this book in about 1983.

I am the defendant in a lawsuit w/ my landlord. The judge sent me a letter declaring that I was to pay my landlord a specific amount of money within 30 days or file an appeal. If neither was done, he would declare a "transcript of judgement" in favor of the plaintiff. What exactly does this mean? Does she get awarded the whole amount that she sued for (instead of the amount he declared)? Will they file a warrant against me? I don't have the whole amount in full, that the judge delared I pay--so I am trying to find out what will happen if the whole amount isn't paid. I can only make monthly payments till February (tax time), then I can pay the remaining balance. Only knowlegable and serious answers reply, please. I have searched numerous legal term websites to no avail. Someone please help. Thanks!!

There were 5 women, talking badly about my so-called friend, like a DOG! & I went to inform her about it, & she said I was gossipping, & her friend butted in the conversation & said that it's malicious gossip on MY part & not the other womens' parts. I was trying to help the poor woman, not hurt her. BTW, she's hypomanic, meaning that she's always high, jumpy, & excited & talks nonsense & talks a hole in another person's head.

I think they should stop showing this commercial. All the slaves are white which means they thought there would be a problem if they had any coloreds because that would be wrong. So why show any slaves at all? Slave-trading still goes on today on the black market in different parts of the world. I don't think they should show slaves in a candy commercial

For some reason, there are many people in this country who are pro-abortion. For an even stranger reason, most of those same people are also against the death penalty. Does this make any sense?

I am against abortion, I do not think it is right to kill a baby just because you decided to have an illigetimate child. Only in the case where the mother could die by having the baby should it even be considered. Even in a rape case, couldn't the mother simply have the child and give it up for adoption? There are hundreds of good families waiting to adopt kids.

As for the death penalty, I think anyone who commits a crime worse than stealing (murder, rape, child molestation) should endure horrible tortures (ever seen Braveheart?). I have heard too many stories about child molesters going to jail and getting out on parole after 10 years, then molesting another child.
This should NEVER happen!

So I know my life isn't as horrible as others but I've been thinking about getting emancipated but my dad has already said he will fight against it if I ever try. I've been really stressed out with all the rules he has been laying down on me and I can't do anything. I sit in my room everyday with my door shut having hardly any communication with anyone other than my friends at school because he hardly lets me go out and do things (though some of it is my fault). And I am trying to get our relationship back in order but my dad is just too busy with School and Work that I hardly see him as it is. And by the time he's done with his school, which takes a lot out of his time, I will already be graduated and ready to head for college. I know all the rules about emancipation because I have looked up a lot of information, but I also know that the court can keep me from being emancipated as well as my dad. So I was wondering if I have to have a good enough reason to gaurentee my emancipation?

I just purchased a few things from a store in Orange County. I was just calculating all my costs and noticed that they're sales tax charged me incorrectly. The receipt states correctly that 7.750% should be taxed off the subtotal. But it actually charged 8.25% (which is LA's sales tax). My calculations were done with excel I double checked. Who should I report this to?

First of all, I am a single mother. I have 5 children. I do not read or write English. I speak very little. I am Asian. I will tell you a little of what is going on. Police officer is interfering with private civil matters. I am being evicted from my home illegally. This officer is forcing my landlord to kick me out. Landlord refuses because there are no grounds. Officer claims the property is a nuisance. Police threaten to fine landlord. Same officer has called the City Inspector accusing my yard of being messy. Inspector found no problem. Police officer also called the local housing authority, accusing me of committing fraud. In turn, a private investigator was sent to scrutinize me. My civil rights have been violated. Officers entered my home w/o my permission twice. I was unjustly given a citation for disorderly conduct. This is the first ticket I received in my whole life. That officer also has a neighbor across the street video taping me. That neighbor has also stalked me by following my vehicle. Theofficer and neighbor email each other, phone, and talk in person. That same officer called my home from his squad car to tell me I needed to be out by Friday (which has since past). He also said the City Mayor decided I would not have a chance to dispute and I would have to move and that was it! All this stress has taken a toll on me. It has adversely affected my health. I cannot eat or sleep and I get headaches. Remember, this is just the tip of the iceberg! Please Help!!!

I would like to know, legally, what is slander? How do you define it and what can you do about it if it is slander?

My question stems from a website which monitors other sites for spam activity. How it works is their spider fills in forms and signs up for mailing lists with a unique name and then determins how much spam is sent to that email address in order to calculate just how "spammy" a website is.

My website, www.antiqueshoppingguide.com has been in business for over 5 years. We have never resorted to spamming in any shape or form to get our business across to others.

When you do a google search for "antiqueshoppingguide.com" the very first thing that comes up in the list is this website ran by mckafee. If you go to http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/antiqueshoppingguide.com you will see that my site has been

If I have unwittingly made a mistake then I would like the oppotunity to defend myseld and give an explanation of what has happened if anything. The manager is acting as though this is a fait accompli and I have no rights........this can't be right can it

"The Student Teacher Safety Act of 2006 (HR 5295) is a bill that would require any school receiving federal funding (essentially every public school) to adopt policies allowing teachers and school officials to conduct random, warrantless searches of every student, at any time, for essentially any reason they want. All they would have to do is say they suspect one of their students might be carrying drugs, and then they could conduct a wide scale search of every student in the building. These searches could be pat-downs, bag searches, or strip searches depending on how far school administrators wanted to go."

And what's more, what happens to a student who refuses to submit to a strip-search (perhaps it's a girl who has a history of sexual abuse, for example)? Are you just going to start ripping her clothes from her body? Yeah, this really sounds like a free country....

There is no audit of the amount of subscription collected from members. There is no account of donations collected from members when they get bonus, etc. In public sector units contractors have to bribe not only the officers, but also union leaders. In some PSUs oficials bribe union leaders to get a posting of their choice and the union leader will get the job done by blackmailing the boss with threat of strke or ghero on some flimsy ground.

I am interested in what people think of my answer to

Why do we consider some lives to be worth more than others?

My Answer:

The truth is because humans have a basic instinct of valuing their own lives because that is the basic possession all humans have and basis of self-awareness and individuality. That in turn automatically gives a certain value to all the other people's lives in comparison which is human nature. Humans all act in what they think is in their best interest and increasing their own lives values. Humans will value any life that makes their own worth more or better, while the ones that do not add value are seen as less of an interest. People may say they can act selflessly, but even while acting selflessly they are acting in interest of making their sacrifice worth something or their lives not meaningless. That is the basis of human nature and nothing more.

Maybe it seems a little cold.
