I don't think so that 's not enforceable . but beware postal workers have been known to steal money mailed .

It is not illegal but if someone sees it through the envelope they will steal it. Businesses tell you not to send cash because their employees will steal it and some people will send an empty envelope and claim they sent cash. DONT DO IT>

it's not illegal, they recomend you don't so someone won't steal your package...

example: postal person with sticky fingers or someone going through the mail...they cannot reimburse you for lost money...it's a liability...

ILLEGAL. June 9, 2014. Found out this morning it is illegal.

I just called the Ft Worth TX USPS Distribution Center/US POSTAL MARSHALL OFFICE. They said it is illegal to send cash through the mail today, June 9, 2014.

It is in the Domestic and International USPS Manuals.
