I think they should stop showing this commercial. All the slaves are white which means they thought there would be a problem if they had any coloreds because that would be wrong. So why show any slaves at all? Slave-trading still goes on today on the black market in different parts of the world. I don't think they should show slaves in a candy commercial

I think all the slaves were white because they were on some kind of Nordic ship. But yeah, that commercial seemed weird to me too. And what's even weirder is that candy is singing and rowing a boat. Is that real?

I really think you are just looking into this too much. It is simply a commercial for candy. And by the way, it is not an "African" slave ship, those people did not actually row the boats. It is more like a Viking slave ship, where the slaves would have been white. Plus, it's funny.

I hope you realize this is not pointed towards the Black Slave triangle. This is a joke for the Vikings. If you have a group like : The Ancestors of Viking Slave group you could probly have them cancel the commerical. But this is supposed to be haha funny not "Slavery!". I mean the M&Ms singing "Rock the Boat"

it's great that it's raised your ire, but as a descendant of slaves, it really didn't bother me.

As someone concerned about ills taking place elsewhere in the world - maybe we could spend more time helping others than buying and eating M&Ms. The cost of that candy could make a significant difference in the lives of people in a developing or war-torn nation.
