Yes, it is a real law in most states that is. Most of the ordinances don't start till after a certain time at night, when the majority of people are in bed. I think this is a good law personally, because I live on a rual street and these teenage punks used to drive buy at midnight blarring there stereos, waking up my newborn at the time. I am sure moms of other newborns would understand where I am coming from on this, and would say the samething.

Where I live, it is a law. It is call Disturbing the Peace. I don't like people driving around my neighborhood at 1 in the morning with their stereo on. And there is nothing more annoying when I have my kids in the car and my 3 year old is sleeping and some little kid with a loud stereo pulls up next to me and wakes my kid up and I can't hear my other son. Plus, I really don't like to listen to another person's music when every other word is a swear word. It is defiantly a law.

Depends on where you live. A city very near the one I live in just recently enact this ordinance. If your music can be heard outside the closed windows of your car, it is too loud and you can be fined.

And if you blasted him, then he was probably looking for an excuse to bust you and you got off lucky.

There is a noise ordinance in the City of Memphis. People haven't heard of it because noone bothers to keep informed about the local municipal ordinances. Your local library should be able to supply with you the information you are looking for.

Many cities have a noise ordinance limiting decibel levels in public. Anyway - you were asking for him to do something by blasting that song at him. You got lucky I think.

if you would do it in my neighborhood, you'd be shot!
You don't have to blast this kind of music where the windows in my home rattle! There is a law and I'm glad! Too bad they don't pull many over!
