"How can we widen the rights of children? The rights which are available to children can how be enhanced so as to improve their position. Suggest some measures."
I'm probably throwing away the chance for ten points here and shooting my average in the foot, but I must ask, "Why would we want to expand the rights of children?"
We call them children because they have yet to reach an age of maturity that ensures they have ample enough experience, education and upbringing to address life's many complex and sometimes confusing issues. Children's rights are already protected through their parents, through government agencies such as Departments of Children and Family Services, and through the courts.
MySpace is a perfect example of a phenomenon in American society that allows children far more freedom than they should have. If your child creates a MySpace account and you want to delete it, MySpace suggests you "Work with your child." Children once had just a private diary in their bedroom (that they would have to share with people one at a time and that pedophiles generally wouldn't be able to access since they didn't have contact with the child). Now there are private websites and private linked networks with access to millions of people-- good and bad-- and access to nearly every kind of material a teenager might think to load onto their on-line spaces-- including pornography, profanity, the glorification of drug and alcohol abuse, and you name it.
Children don't need anymore rights. What children need are responsible parents and a caring community that understands "It Takes a Village."
That said, parents need to assert their children's rights as if they were asserting their own. Children being strip searched in schools?!? Parents need to step forward and put their foot down. Governmental conduct that isn't appropriate to individual adults probably isn't appropriate for individual children. But that doesn't mean we need MORE LAWS, it means we need less-- and active communities comprised of people who respect the rights of their fellow Americans and their fellow human beings-- child and adult alike.

I would love to see more action in the Juvenile court system. Children that get trapped in this system have very little resources to get them help. I would start with my local Court and Council man. I would dig up cases that prove rehabilitation works for children and go from there.
It is a sad day when children are treated worse then the animals in this country.
Good Luck and Take Care

Elect Queen Hillary the Great to the office of President of the United States.
That great defender of the rights of "the children" will make sure the little monsters can sue their parents in court, move out of the house after the age of thirteen, bring home any old grades they feel like earning, do as little work around the house as they please, and generally be treated like the adults that they are not.

children have more rights than an adult ,how long you a child ,you gonna let the kids rule you when your grown up ,right now we allready got too many laws
you should ask how can we enforce the laws we got now to protect kids ,
passing a new law is great ,but if you dont hire people to enforce the new laws you wasting time , no new laws are needed , make them enforce the ones we allready got ,we need workers that spend time watching the welfare of the kids ,..not learning new laws
you want to protect kids ,lobby for more people to watch thier well being ,not create more laws ,waych the watchers is also needed not that govt dude with the emails ,he was on ther commitie to frame the laws ,..note that nutter that confessed to molestering that child model ,note tha jail time for child molestation ,see what you get for a joint ,prison time ,new laws all are made by those who got the most to hide ,
they wrote the laws so they know the loop holes. ,simplify the laws ,you touch a child we cut off your offending bits .
the bible got it right ,remove the abusing part ,see the pervert killedc those girls ,mormans ,rekon he would have thought twice with no hands ,we need to tripple penlties not new laws but safty.
make it perverts are afraid to even look at a chiold ,let alone think evil crap about innocents.

Counselling is the best way. A team comprising parents, teachers, older students, student representatives sit together and discuss.

If you live in the U.S., our process is to write Legislators and Congress, in order to enact laws or change them.
We do need stricter laws to protect our children.

Why, don't they have the same rights as all other Americans. Or are you seeking to diminish the rights and responsibilities of parents.
