I have a common name: Will Johnson. After recording my first CD, I found out there was another Will Johnson who also records music. Both of us are "independent" artists (as opposed to major label), but he has more albums than me and has toured more. His mananger told me that once someone uses a name professionally it is their property. Can this be so with such a common name? Its not like I am going by "Jimi Hendrix" or something like that. It seems like there's a difference. My fans are used to my name and don't want me to back down. Isn't it up to the consumer to make sure they've got the right artist? What's my best course of action (without a major legal battle)?

This involves my cousin who lived almost her entire life in her grama and grampa's house, even now with her husband and daughter. (large house) She's taken care of the house and of her grama all along. Now, her grama has kicked them out and is selling the house and does not plan on giving my cousin one red cent. My cousing's grampa always said the the house would go to her when they died, but since he died and grama is alive, her grama went psycho and went against grampas wishes. My cousin's name was in the will, but she doesn't have a copy of it and her grama won't give her a copy.
The main reason for this is because her grama is a JW (Jehovah's Witness) and my cousin left the religion/cult/organization. You might not know much about JW practices but they shun members who leave or are who are excommunicated, even if they are family. Some families to different degrees.
My cousin/hubby/daughter already moved out, and she is so busy she does not have time to find this info. Help????

My 21 year old daughter was held against her will, raped, beaten an tortured by a man she knew , about 5 weeks ago. He was arrested and held on a large bond. My daughter was arested about 3 weeks ago for a failure to appear on a misdomeanor charge. She was incarcerated in the same jail as her rapist.. It came time for her to testify at the pre-trial, to keep him in jail, until trial I guess. Anyways, these STUPID gaurds at this jail transported them both to court. They made my daughter ride in the same cop car to the court house, she freaked out... He threatened her all the way there... I did call and report it, but I dont think much was done except P.O a few cops. She had another court date to keep him there again on Aug 1 and the cops at the jail refused to take her, lied and said they did not get a request when they did. That day the judge released this guy scott free because of her not being there,What should I do!!!

My co-workers ganged up on me and lied, said I did things I did not do. Instead of doing what I was accused of which resulted in my termination I chose to call police just in case. So much for that protecting me. This same person hit me before and management did nothing about it, I even had a witness. This time the witness was the manager on duty. That's why I called police because they did nothing about it before. Now I have to sue. I got a way better Job now offering me management, but I want justice for putting me through two weeks of hell wondering when was I going to get a job, how was I going to pay my bills, eat, pay rent etc. Luckily and blessed I had good friends who came through and each gave me money to cover all necessities. This is a large Corpoation with over 1200 stores nationwide. I worked almost three years for them. I didn't receive a write-up or anything in writing stating their decision to terminate me. And the funny thing is it's reverse discrimination, I'm causian

This feels like harassment
I have been here for a peaceful ten years. She has been here one and it does not feel very peacful.
What can I do?

I don't believe anyone should have the right to tell you to get out of your child's life just because they don't want you there during their visits. People need to act more civilized instead of acting like little spoiled brats who can't have their way. That's the way my daughter's father acts and he wonders why I'm afraid to leave our daughter with him. He is very irresponsible and always starts trouble when ever he can. He also does not take good care of our daughter. She always returns sick and dirty after she's been in his care, but the courts won't listen to me since I can't get a lawyer of any kind. It's quite sickening how I have been treated by judges and how they disregard my child's health and welfare just because her father has a lawyer and he's good at lying. So what do you think? Should a parent be able to make the other parent lose precious time with their child just because they feel like it and not because they have a valid reason for wanting them to stay away?

Many criminalls will have thier attorney say to the prosecutor that the defandant has a disease ,addction" alcholism" to get out of going to prison or jail . They will ask and often get to go to a 28 day rehab . Then probation with AA meetings .
Often they are repeat offnders with serious records. yet we as a society let them off with rehab and meetings which the are often alrealy found their victim through !
Yet a person who is truely mentally ill often end up in prison where the quickly become victims of some of societies most evil.
We claim not to like the insanity defense in fact outside of the disease of substance abuse and its growing spin offs insanitiy defence of any type are succesfull 1% of the time

Why then do we let sane criminals off with rehab and AA to reoffend ? AA/NA claims all addicts are insane yet they are well aware that they are breaking law , fail to to fit medical or legal insantiy burden is this justice or imoral ?

Drugs are illegal because they are addictive and deadly and they alter a person's mind. Why is smoking legal when cigarettes do the same thing? People who smoke are addicted to it, it is deadly, and they get cranky and cannot function when they don't smoke. It's basically the same thing right? the only difference is there are rich people with influence to keep their cigarette business afloat

OK, here are the details. My husband and I took our SUV to a garage to get an estimate, the guy had it for a day, then calls to give us this way too high estimate. So my husband tells him to hold off on fixing it till he calls him back. Anyway, the next day the owner of the garage lets an employee take our truch (which he told us is unsafe to drive) somewhere to haul something, the employee ends up wrecking our truck into 3 other vehicles, then lies to the police saying they were just moving cars to make room in the lot (the accident was several blocks away, this was an absolute lie, he was headed back into town from somewhere else) I know he was hauling something because my backseats were down when they were not down when we dropped off the truck. I'm sooo ticked off, it's like they stole our truck in a way. So, we're getting a runaround trying to get a rental which I really need, just a huge hassle. How can I put this guy out of business? Cops said theses things happened befor

I have a friend who is 14 and just got a job at a pizza place, and the owner, or the boss, leaves my friend at night (10:00pm) to clean the whole place, and lock up the building. The process of clean up takes about 1.5 hours, so he locks up at around 11:30pm. Is that legal for the owner to do that in NJ?

A friend of mine rented a basement 5 months ago. No contract was signed. He was given the keys when he made payment for first month. For rent by owner. Utilities/Gas/Telephone included in price.

Owner does not allow AC because his bills are too high. Refuses to turn on central air conditioner. The summer heat is unbearable. What are my friend's rights in this situation?

his public defender is saying that he most likely get 9-16 months and he has already served 6 and has yet to be arraigned. he has no prior record and the robbery was unarmed. he supposedly got away with 7 grand. i was just wondering how realistic is it for him to get 9-16 months considering this crime? it seems like too much of a lenient sentence for a crime like this. please answer if u have knowledge of this or your opinions are welcome..
