It makes perfect sense, and it is one of the reasons I am personally opposed to capital punishment of all forms. I feel it's not the place of our state government to impose their own "murder" just because someone else did it. Two wrongs don't make a right. Plus, in many cases, killing a murderer doesn't serve any justice, because they aren't forced to live their entire life with the knowledge that they committed that murder. Essentially, they are let off the hook.
Oh, and AzN, the eye for an eye refers to a proverb in Exodus, part of the Old Testament, and was actually retracted in the book of Matthew in the New Testament.
You have heard that it was said, "An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth". But I say to you, do not resist an evildoer. If anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. (Matthew 5:38-39, NRSV)

Well, when discussing capital punishment in a Biblical context, a much, much more important Bible passage to consider is that where Mary Magdelene is about to be stoned to death for committing adultery. Yet Jesus intervenes to stop her execution, saying "let the one of you who is without sin cast the first stone." Of course, all of us have our sins, and not one of us has the right to just simply execute another human being. The death penalty is complete hypocrisy, and for the reason, I am opposed to the government-sanctioned killing of others.
Now, that said, the executioner is certainly considered a killer, since they personally committed the act, and the judge is equally as guilty since he ultimately issues the sentence. But as for the jury, it's difficult to tell. It would only make sense that the jurors who recommended the death penalty would also share the guilt as well. However, it's important to remember that God is willing to forgive everyone who's sorry, including the murderer, the executioner, the judge, as well as the jury; He loves them all equally as his own children.

First off, God gave laws to people in the Bible that certain crimes, sins, or abominations were punishable by death.
People are submit to the authority that they live under.
Whether the judge, jury, or executioner is guilty of murder would have to be a moral issue that they will one day give account for.
According to the laws that have be made in this country they are only doing what being a citizen is required to do under those laws.
A good question to ask yourself, would be if that is what you would want done to someone who took the life of one of your family members?
It all comes down to the individual persons feelings about this question..
Is it justified? SOMETIMES!! Is it Morally correct? I think we will have to wait until we face GOD to know for sure!!!

It doesn't, but I will answer it anyway.
GOD never said that we shouldn't kill. In fact, GOD commands the followers of the Word to kill many people all the time. GOD simply stated that people shouldn't MURDER each other, which is a very different thing. And if you had red the Bible, you would know that GOD pretty much invented capital punishment.

Dos it not say in the New Testament that God sentenced his only begotten son to death on the Cross for Your sins.An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off.In that case scents your lift hand cut off your right hand then it should be cut off as well. HUM! An Athirst twisting and quoting scepter.

I am against the death penalty too, how is someone punished when they are dead. They should be left to rot in a jail cell for their whole lives.

This is the very dilemma, besides the fact that many innocent people get executed, why I oppose capital punishment.
