I don't understand why the abortion debate is termed pro-choice vs pro-life. I believe in a woman's right to choose whether to have a baby. I just think she makes this choice every morning when she "chooses" not to put a birth control pill in her mouth, every month she "chooses" not to go get a depo shot, every time she "chooses" to get laid (especially without a condom, diaphragm, spermicide etc.) The argument can be made I suppose that birth control is not fool proof, but this being common knowledge don't you to "choose" to take that chance when you have sex? I think you have made your "choice" well BEFORE you find out you are pregnant. Why don't they call it what it is, pro-abortion? What about the father, why can't he CHOOSE not to be parent post pregnancy? He doesn't get a choice whether to have to pay child support the rest of his life for a child he did not "choose" to bring into the world.

Laws are made to cover the lowest common dominator, is that right? Why should I for example have to suffer because one idiot did a bad thing so now nobody gets to do it, the subject is irrelevant.

Also does that parent have to tell the other parent where the child is? My husband and I were very worried about his 8 year old daughter when we hadn't heard from her in several days and her mother was not answering or returning our calls. Short story, (husband is in Iraq btw) we called the sherriff and he called her phone and she answered saying that is was a "load". Then when my husband tried to talk to his daughter her mother intercepted(4 times) saying that she wasn't there or she was indisposed etc and finally saying that she didnt have to tell him anything about where she was or let her talk to him and hung up the phone. Sherriffs department will not do anything and I'm stuck wondering what to do next. my step daughter is not in any apparent danger but this is deplorable that she is unable to speak with her father or her father's family. btw I read the joint custody papers and they are vauge at best - nothing hard set about phone or visitation times. help?! This is going to be at a show cause hearing for non-payment of child support, total amount due is just under $7,000. The total arrearage amount is around $6,000. If this person is arrested is it a misdemeanor on their record? How quickly can they be bailed out of jail? I'm hoping that its not immediate because this may be the thing this person needs to see that this is NOT something they have a choice in, but a responsibility.

I know that for FMLA to apply, your company must have 50+ employees. Mine does not (only about 10). It also does not have any maternity benefits. My husband and I will be adopting a child next year, and I want to be able to spend time at home bonding with our child. Do I have any rights at my current job? Many thanks.

With all the terrisim in the world today all in the name of some religion, and other issues such as abortion, stem cell research, and gay marriage, that are all related to religious beliefs should government step in and create regulations?

Question: In a country where there is a established seperation of church and state, what justification does the "state" have as to not allow gay couples to be recognized as married? This is to say that they are not viewed as married in the churches eyes (which they should also but anyway) but in the eyes of the courts of the United States. It will be interesting to see if anyone can see a hole in this flawless question. To note, I am not gay but have friends who are and I feel they should be able to get married if they wish.
