Well, both appear to be non-profit groups, and they both seem to have the goal of defending 1st Amendment freedoms.

The ACLJ, from their website, sounds like it has a primarily Christian focus, which isn't surprising given that it was founded in 1990 by Pat Robertson. They seem to take mainly cases that promote Christian values.

In contrast, the ACLU takes cases regardless of the religon or viewpoint of the plaintiff, and was founded in 1920. So it has a bit more experience in the field.

Other than that, their stated mission appears to be similar, though the ACLU is much less viewpoint oriented.

They both rely on the U.S. Constitution to support their claims? (Whereas, the U.S. court system relies on "laws, codes and regulations" to support their claims).
