of those 150, approx. 100 are jailed for non-violent crimes predominantly possession of marijuana resulting from this country's absurd prohibition laws. FYI: in GEN 1:29 God declares that all seed bearing plants are given to man to be used food. What God hath given, the government hath taken away.

Yes, we probably have more prisoners per capita than
any other country..
This is because we lock up a bunch of people for drugs
and drug related crimes as a result of our "war on drugs"
which we are not only losing but we never should have
started in the first place.
Of course with the number of federal, state & local employees
that would be out of a job if we found a reasonable solution to
this insane war on drugs it would not politically possible to quit arresting people for drugs. Too much unemployment.

I like Alan S's answer. in a neighborhood of 150 homes, just think, there's only one criminal; trouble is figuring which one. Let's hope he's not a pedophile.

Yup .. but the thing is .. we did freely elect the people that have made us what we are .... most just never took the time to really look at what was, or is, going on. We forgot that our freedom is our responsibility.

The US obviously has lots of naughty people living within its borders!
At least you lock up your criminals, here in the UK we have a judiciary whom seem to be afraid of locking up our criminals.

we cant live in a free society with rapists,murderers,bankrobbers and theives,drugpushers and crap like that running around so we lock their butts up and execute the worst of em
