Each lawyer sets his or her own fees. Ask before you sign anything. Make sure the fees are spelled out clearly in writing.

After. It typically works out like this. 1/3 to medical bills, 1/3 to the patient, and 1/3 to the lawyer. I settle these all the time, and am based in Dallas. If a law firm tells you differently, they are liars.
