Immigration - December 2007

[Selected]: All categories Politics & Government Immigration

I'm in a homeschool debate league, and we're debating the topic of illegal immigration. My partner and I are doing a case on improving Mexico's economy, but I feel as if we're lacking advantages to 'enact' our plan.

What I would like to know, is if anybody else has any ideas as to how there would be extra advantages. Sources would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

I´ve been reading about Polish accepting low pay jobs, wich is true ( I know about a few of them working in pubs for as little as 4 quid /hour + living in+only 1 day off). Should we blame them or is the greedy employer the one to blame??

Everybone in my body tells me that those of us who oppose ths conspiracy are fighting a losing battle and that inevitably we will lose this battle.

There is just too much big money and power in favor of it, and all we have on our side is the fact that we want the right thing done. Also, consider this, that the longer we are at an impasse and that tough new laws are not passed and enforced, every minute that goes by means its gonna be that much harder to solve the problem in a way that favors american citizens and workers.

History has proven that the forces of evil use a strategy often that I call incrementalism, where they dont come right out and hit you over the head with an idea and overwhelm you but rather slowing introduce their scheme in bits and pieces in such a way that over time at some point you realize that you are willing to accept things at some point that you would never have ever dream of acquiescing to. Ever hear the story of how you can boil a frog live?

Like Lou Dobbs? I know plenty of racist Anglo males who claim they don't like illegal immigrants from Mexico, and hate Mexican males (even the legal ones). But they date and marry Mexican women? Isn't that a contradiction?

50,00 to 60,000 undocumented Irish citizens in the States are now seeking a special deal for Irish people that would exclude immigrants from Mexico and other countries.

Does Mitt Romney have Secrect Service protection. Because the slogan of the Secret Service is to walk up to a subject of interest and ask them "Have you lived here ALL of your life?" and if the subject gives any sort of reaction involving a discomfort or lie, the subject is escorted away to a secure area and their residence is promptly searched without a warrant. So, is Mitt Romney lying?

The person I want to marry has lived here since she was 3 and now she is 21.

Her parents are US citizens now but for some reasons I am not sure of right now, her papers weren't filed correctly or something.

So apparently she has overstayed the Visa or Green Card she came to the US on when she was 3 years old.

I'm Chinese-Filipino, my husband is Lebanese and we have one child. We might qualify for the Quebec program and he wants Montreal as he's French-educated&grew up partly in Paris. I also speak French and with some practice, could probably handle Montreal. But we're not sure if employment opps are abundant in Montreal..i'd still prefer work in an english environment...or if it's better to undergo the longer migration process so we can migrate to vancouver/toronto, etc. Or is Oz much better over-all?

I'm an international student in Canada and my study permit will expire on January 15. I don't need a visa to enter Canada (i'm from Italy). I'm applying for an extension, and I wanted to leave Canada and re-enter with this study permit before its expiration date, but I've been told that is "dangerous" and I may not be allowed to re-enter due to the fact that I shouldn't leave Canada within a month of expiration.

And also, does it make a difference to re-enter through an international airport (from Italy) or through Greyhound bus (from USA)?

Please answer I need help soon.

I am a Malaysian Citizen. My son and daughter are malaysian citizens and are studying in India. Our passports expires in March 2008. It is not possible for us to go to Malaysia to get a new passport and renew the IC since it involves huge amount and it will disturb the studies of my children since they will be busy preparing for their examinations. Is it necessary to go over to Malaysia to get a new passport? Is there any other way to get our pass port without visiting Malaysia? If there are ways, what are the procedures? We are in Tamilnadu, India and Malaysian High Commission has an office at Chennai.

Is Wales the only Country in the world where you have to pay to get in but its free to leave. No passport control just men in uniform wanting your money.
I think the BNP, UKIP and ENT should look at this to as illegals just seemed to flow across the border at will.
