illegal immigration is running wild for the same reason that there is a trend to erase borders of contries throughout the world. It means that big business and multinational corporations are getting more powerful and are controlling more and more governments and politicians across the globe. It means that that policies that make it easy for business to be done and to maximize profits are top priority and quaint ideas like looking out for the population of your country are on the back burner. Its all about tapping into cheap labor and opening huge new markets.

EDIT
(if you gave my answer a thumbs down, I would love to know why. I am fascinated by a thumbs down to the truth. )

No, it's quite simple. It's Darwinism. We all compete for resources, top resource we compete for being money. We need money to survive, it's just the way in the world. So you've got several million lower class immigrants that emigrate here illegally to find work. And they work hard for low pay without complaining. It's a win-win for them and business. If all citizens competed on that level, they would do more to deport illegals: they wouldn't fill any niches that weren't already filled.
