Nothing. Illegal immigration is a completely valid and important issue. We have every reason to be concerned about it.

But we should be asking:

What could the global warming scare be covering up, or diverting us away from?

What could the health care scare be covering up, or diverting us away from?

What could the firearm scare be covering up, or diverting us away from?

It is not a scare. It is simple accounting. Illegal immigration has large fiscal benefits, but also large fiscal costs. The costs just happen to be larger than the benefit.

As it is a net loss there either needs to be a change or we need to stop illegal immigration. It isn't something to get upset about.

Issues that are far more important.
Like our future which we do a pizzzz poor job thinking about.

We are really good at addressing issues such as lead in our children's toys, but do little or nothing thinking about their future.

America is so caught up in instant gratification that we can't see the forest through the trees. If we would concentrate on our future and make viable plans, then things like illegal immigration would be addressed. Instead we piecemeal our way through our problems while not thinking of the outcome of those actions nor a damned thing about our future.

America will get what it deserves if it doesn't stop the divisive politics and hate.

I have little hope that will happen till it is too late. While the China's of the world, that do plan, will have surpassed us.

Peace

Jim

We are not being diverted from anything. We have just realized that this is a very serious problem that needs to be dealt with now so it doesn't get any worse than it already is.

Most of the supposed "illegal immigration" is just ILLEGAL! NOT IMMIGRATION! Have you watched and listened to the protest, news, crimes committed against U.S. citizens. They admit they want to take over our country! What about the areas in the U.S. were they literally try to kill and maim you if you are a citizen? Did you see the incident recently were a Fireman was attacked and stabbed multiple times? The Fireman was told "we do not want any gringos here". In supposed "illegal immigration rallies they say and show they have no intention of becoming U.S. citizens.
What do you think is being covered up? Are you one of those people that think:
1. man has not been to the moon?
2. George bush attacked the Pentagon, World Trade Centers...
3. The world is really flat not round
I apologize if you are not one of "those" people.

Illegal immigration is only an issue because both party are via'ing for those votes. In states like Florida and California simpathy for illegal immigration could swing the vote. So both sides are pandering to get those voters. They are both willing to "sell out the issue" if it meant they could solidify those groups. They want was the democrats have with minorities. A solid loyal voting block even if they do absolutely nothing for their issues. Blind leading the blind. Minorities would be much better off splitting the vote between both parties, maybe then would one party actually do something for them. Guess, they are satisfied with the free entitlements the Dems keep trying to give them.

Nothing. It's not a recent "scare" as you put it. It's been a problem for decades. People are just opening their eyes to this problem. A decade ago, illegals were mainly in larger cities. Now they are moving into smaller towns and demanding things that they are not entitled to. Why are we letting the big businesses make all the profits as middle class Americans get screwed?

It is not covering it up, but illegal immigration is diverting our attention from the NWO whole continent government the UN and others (Bush included) are trying to force on us.
Tolerance of non-enforcement and tolerance of elected officials ignoring our pleas for cutting spending and legal enforcement are really quite disgusting.
And imbeciles like Algore getting a Nobel prize for lunatic theory are reinforcement of the fact that the press wants us to tolerate it. And there are far more than 13 million illegals here, more like 25-30 million. 45% of our federal prison population is illegal immigrants.
