Nope.
It's hate groups like La Raza that try to lump all "Hispanics" in the US together , both legal & illegal. These hate groups intentionally try to make it a "race" issue in an attempt to dodge the fact that it's actually a simple legal issue.

Twenty years ago, when I was in a new job, I was trained by a legal Hispanic immigrant. He was not too great with english, but he helped, and was learning our language from an ESL program. I have always respected him for the way he treated me. However, today's illegals do not feel they need to even attempt to learn the language, or follow the law. And if you think the media shows Hispanics badly, try looking at how they show white Christians.
Enforcement of current law is the only answer, but it won't happen until ALL, repeat, ALL of our legislators are made aware that we will not tolerate their ignoring the problem and trying to pass more amnesty bills.

The majority of illegal aliens in America are Hispanic, so it's an understandable association to make. But, the majority of Hispanics in America are not illegal aliens, nor even immigrants - most were born here, American Citizens like any others.
Hispanic is rather a bizarre label. It's not a race, and, though it's often called an 'ethnicity,' you don't have to speak spanish to be 'hispanic.' You just have to 'identify' with a spanish-speaking culture. That's the theory. The reality is if your ancestors came from a spanish-speaking country in the western hemisphere, you're labeled 'hispanic.'
If they came from Spain, BTW, you're not...

Huh. It never crossed my mind. When I think hispanic I think of an ethnic group, but I admit that when I think illegal I think someone of hispanic heritage. Make sense? I think it's the media that does this too us. Even though I know there are lots of people running around this country from all over the globe that are illegal.
Thanks for posting this question. It's made me really reflect on this and when I think illegal my image will change.
May I add I love all the bits and pieces of Hispanic culture and the many countries that are inside of it.

No, because I am Hispanic, and my family has lived in the United States since at least the 1800s.
When I think of illegal aliens, I think of Hispanics, but when I think of Hispanics, I think of people like my relatives in San Antonio, who are all proud Americans.

If they don't speak English, I do.
That isn't because I think unfavorably of anyone- only because I know that there haven't been a way to come legally here (unless petitioned by parent or child) for some years from Mexico. So, when someone is speaking only Spanish and only recently arrived, I do think that they are illegal. I don't think that makes them bad people, though...

Unfortunately, Hispanics are not doing very well in the USA. They have a very high crime rate, they do poorly in school as only 50% graduate, many don't speak English, they start breeding at very early ages and have a high illegitmacy rate. They do work hard, but the main problem with them that is they give aid and comfort to the 20 million illegal alien invaders in our country.

Its the manner in the way they speak. If they speak fluent English, its likely they were born and raised in the USA. If they speak little or no English, then its indicative that they're likely here illegally. Incidently, most illegals are gainfully employed because employers prefer them over Americans. They work harder, and are technically legal to hire, so long as they produce fake social security cards, fake birth certificates, and fake state ID cards; documents that are easily sold in the black market.

Since most hispanics support the racist messycon illegal alien invasion of America, the greatest country in the world, this is why they are all lumped in together. Their getting what they desirve when it comes to the back lash that they are receiving. If they were loyal to America, the greatest country in the world, then they would be accepted as Americans. Since they insist on speaking Spanish instead of English and support border criminals. Then they are getting what they deserve.
And look at my answer to this question you've linked too.

No, but it seems like most people do. Unfortunately, most people seem to assume that all illegal immigrants are Hispanic, and some people even seem to assume that all Hispanics living in the U.S. are illegal aliens.
