I'm an international student in Canada and my study permit will expire on January 15. I don't need a visa to enter Canada (i'm from Italy). I'm applying for an extension, and I wanted to leave Canada and re-enter with this study permit before its expiration date, but I've been told that is "dangerous" and I may not be allowed to re-enter due to the fact that I shouldn't leave Canada within a month of expiration.

And also, does it make a difference to re-enter through an international airport (from Italy) or through Greyhound bus (from USA)?

Please answer I need help soon.

Thank you. I can't call CIC they do not have any public phone or email.

I'm not doing anything illegal, just wanted to have a trip for NYE either home or to the States.

If you leave they may ask why you are re-entering, they may or may not let you in....depends on what you say to them. Have you called Canadian Immigration and asked what your options are?

Doesn't matter what port or mode of transportation you go by, once you have government documents in the system they know what is going on.

call the immigration line and find out what your options are that is your safest bet

As already known you won't be able to overstay different than you have gotten a medical emergency and are hospitalised which prevents you from vacationing for as much as 28 days. She had to bypass via way of immigration to flow away the airport they frequently caught her jointly together with her expired visa and he or she became as quickly as given a three year ban from reentering the united kingdom.

Go to your schools international student office or the person that deals with international students. My fiance was able to renew his student visa while here in the USA, but the school had to file for the visa. He did this twice.

Request for a renewal of the visa. You can exit Canada any way you want as long as it is legal.
