President Bush's demands in the Medellin murder case, now being heard before the U.S. Supreme Court, are "bizarrely grotesque," according to the chief counsel for the Alliance Defense Fund.

And the warning from ADF Chief Counsel Benjamin Bull notes that the case could result in U.S. laws being subjugated to U.N. resolutions and rules to the point that local police officers will have to spend more time studying international law than catching criminals.

"The notion that an international body can Mirandize the right of an illegal immigrant to call a consulate, so that if the local police trip up and innocently don't to it, a convicted rapist-torturer-murderer goes free, goes beyond bizarrely grotesque," Bull, whose organization has filed an amicus brief on the issue, told WND. Jose Medellin

At issue is the death penalty verdict for Jose Medellin, who confessed in 1993 to participating in the rape and murder of two Houston teenagers. Jennifer Ertman and Elizabeth Pena were sodomized and strangled with their shoe laces. Medellin then boasted of keeping one girl's Mickey Mouse watch as a souvenir of the crime.

The Bush administration is before the U.S. Supreme Court seeking to overturn the death penalty, at the behest of the International Court of Justice, a division of the United Nations.

Medellin and four others were convicted of capital murder and sent to Texas' death row. A juvenile court sentenced Medellin's younger brother, who was 14 at the time, to 40 years in prison.

(Story continues below)

But the Bush administration intervention came after the U.N.'s International Court of Justice found Medellin was not informed of his right to contact the Mexican Consulate for legal assistance.

That, according to the Hague, was a violation of a 1963 treaty known as the Vienna Convention.http://worldnetdaily.com/news/printer-friendly.asp?ARTICLE_ID=58063
There’s not anything he won’t do for a Mexican over an American. Ramos and Compean can rot in jail, but let’s go to bat for this monster that tortured and murdered two girls in such a horrific manner. What are the Supremes deciding? If the state of Texas has the right to kill this guy? When will we know their decision?

This crime wave has gotten totally out of hand with these illegals coming here commiting crimes then heading back to Mexico doesnt the US govt. care at all about this crime wave enough to shut down the borders whats going on in this country are we headed toward anarchy?

He was on the O Reilly factor and Larry King talking about how the illegals have a right to come here if there are job openings. This clown thinks he can dump all his uneducated poor people off on us and have them sending our money back to him and Cardon. He also had the nerve to blame us for the mexican drug smuggling problem because of our demand for drugs. I think him and Bush would get together and figure out ways that the US could get around guarding the border and i think Fox in a way was running our immigration policy to a certain extent. Dont you think it is time for the american people to start raising holy hell after seeing what this ***** said on our TV stations?

First I want to say the Mexican guy who put up the Mexican flag over the American flag was being ignorant. However, in my opinion I think the millitary vet was also just as ignorant. I think he was trying to get attention. Why would he make sure a camera was filming him? If he really wanted to prove a point and look civilized why didnt he just talk to the guy and ask why he was raising the Mexican flag? Oh but nooooo he wanted to start up some contreversy and look like a hero to the trailor park residents of the country. Also whats with the grizzly Adams look? I served in the millitary for four years and we always like to look neat. This guy looks like a bum. I also thought it was funny how Fox and CNN try to make this guy look like a hero. Wow he cut down a flag, big woop! I also liked how they pointed out how the owner just stood there. What was he supposed to do? I think if the owner wanted to he could have beaten the old guy up. The owner came out looking like the better man.

Yet they can't get out of there fast enough. They come here, fly their flag, never assimilate or learn the local lingo. If Mexico is so fantastic that you can't get enough of it's culture, why are you all here? If Mexico is so awful that you swarm over here in the millions, why don't you try something new? new country. new language, new life. When the U.S. is just like Mexico from the millions and millions of mexicans bringing that culture here, what are you going to do? Run up to Canada with that flag draped over the hood of your car?

Still the consul did not grant my visa. I hope somebody out there help me. I am really discourage because I miss my daughter so much. They cannot come here because her children are still very young and it is very hard to travel with children. I hope somebody from the US embassy will help me. I don't have intention to stay there. I just want to visit even for two to three weeks only. Just to hug and kiss them and have photos with them especially my grandchildren while they are still young. Please, I'm already old and time is running so fast. I'm desperate. What is the best thing to prove that my intention is good. The last time I applied I was not given a chance to show my documents. I love my country and my culture I will come back for sure. I just want to see them and the country of my grandchildren just before I die. I'm from the Philippines.

Illegal immigrant nabbed following hit and run
by South Jersey News Online Tuesday October 09, 2007, 10:00 AM
From staff reports
BRIDGETON -- A 19-year-old suspected illegal immigrant was lodged in Cumberland County Jail on Monday night after allegedly hitting a parked car on South Avenue and refusing a breath test.

Cristian Perez, of North Pearl Street, who police on Tuesday morning said could barely walk and failed a balance test when police pulled him over on South Avenue around 11 p.m. on Monday, was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a Breathalyzer test, reckless driving and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident.

Perez, driving a green Plymoth Neon with temporary tags, allegedly hit a parked car before attempting to flee the scene of the accident, according to Lt. James Battavio.

Battavio said Immigrations and Customs Enforcement has been notified of Perez's potential status as an illegal immigrant.http://www.nj.com/southjersey/index.ssf/2007/10/illegal_immigrant_nabbed_follo.html

Take a look at this Q&A and you'll see what I mean. I was quite surprised by a lot of the postive reactions it received.

I understand were all tired and frustrated of illegal immigration. All the pro-illegal rallies waving foreign flags, the government not doing a damn thing about it, amnesty attempts, no end in sight, etc.

I just never thought it would come to the point were people would be cheering and wooting to the idea of putting snipers across the border.

Yes, technically all illegal aliens are criminals but ICE said they were targeting gang members and other criminals (illegal aliens that committed crimes other than sneaking in). So what do I also hear during the news report? That "immigrant rights" groups think this is unfair. I don't understand why everyone isn't in favor of deporting gang members, violent criminals, thieves and serial DUI offenders. Can anyone explain this to me? What am I missing here?

This is still America, right? Then why don't we encourage everyone to only speak English here?

I have no problem with a German coming to live in the US as an American-German, or a Mexican coming here to be an American-Mexican, but the ones coming here to make America "little Tokyo" or "Northern Mexico" piss me off!

If any US citizen went to Mexico, and tried to get welfare, or send our kids to school there, we would be arrested!

All we have to do is enforce the labor laws and rules we have on the books now, deny basic medical care at hospital ER rooms (kick them out unless life-threatening), charge tuition for public schools for NON-RESIDENTS, and require Government Issued ID for all government sponsered services (ffod stamps, welfare, etc.).

When are we going to wake up before it's too late?

Come to America - whoever wants to come - I welcome you...
